The <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/">Monday challenge</a> is <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=29477">Christmas</a>. This afternoon I finished a new winter background piece with the Tim Holtz Holiday Mica sprays and I decided to put together a card with it. </p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlBtBCkXzp7aEZwbuox3yXnHGz5bKXezoY3MNQvxSCTLZrkr57VYCz8QvGddWxHSn7jMs9vGCiwUnW9_WRKJzFocTjTGh_UIDbnfbXlB2mdn3EU7uh9xy0KSQmMy7f1Nbf-L0r4f60Yz7ucxhbvvE3dmyiAH_zludO4ZOe7VTb7_7TY6CMLvsPRzrP/s450/Winter%20Wishes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="342" data-original-width="450" height="243" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlBtBCkXzp7aEZwbuox3yXnHGz5bKXezoY3MNQvxSCTLZrkr57VYCz8QvGddWxHSn7jMs9vGCiwUnW9_WRKJzFocTjTGh_UIDbnfbXlB2mdn3EU7uh9xy0KSQmMy7f1Nbf-L0r4f60Yz7ucxhbvvE3dmyiAH_zludO4ZOe7VTb7_7TY6CMLvsPRzrP/s320/Winter%20Wishes.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p>I started with the Simon Says stamp Filigree Snowflakes embossing folder and blended some Tumbled Glass, Broken China & Mermaid Lagoon distress inks on it and then sprayed it with Mica sprays (Shiny Bauble, Snow Flurries & Winter Frost). It is hard to capture in pictures just what it looks like. I took a picture of the background piece before I put the card together and it looks completely different than it does in the picture of the finished card.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh43oWD_Ei9CAyqydGYYlESPX1NKI0ZWHPa-XSA7ATx8hhnXAnRHHN3LxJIAXOvvRIWzZW7BHLd7JwuBBW6h0tgvAWfERzl9QPnJU1BXfRNCfRYbzlyzFtqB1BQtV_PfHik3jjxzHinEwlH3UuLAciSpKjmtvUXmmSdqjXhAsnJogeki0MBmBv-jt-D/s393/winter%20wishes%20bg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="393" data-original-width="306" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh43oWD_Ei9CAyqydGYYlESPX1NKI0ZWHPa-XSA7ATx8hhnXAnRHHN3LxJIAXOvvRIWzZW7BHLd7JwuBBW6h0tgvAWfERzl9QPnJU1BXfRNCfRYbzlyzFtqB1BQtV_PfHik3jjxzHinEwlH3UuLAciSpKjmtvUXmmSdqjXhAsnJogeki0MBmBv-jt-D/s320/winter%20wishes%20bg.jpg" width="249" /></a></div><br /><p>The lighting & angle was different for this picture. I really wanted this background piece to be the focal point of the card so I decided to just use a die-cut greeting and some rhinestones to finish it off. The sentiment is from the Tim Holtz Alterations Holiday Words: Script set. I cut it from white card stock and used the Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen to give it some sparkle. Some blue rhinestones and a couple of pearls add a little more sparkle.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUg8lwBKLbmAxzyJAVSu7vCHMgaayquGceMQGkQ3xrKTIVGmXj5AVAydi7pv4YMhcGGYdbGG48gXhFyZC41eLlQzEVFHkuRxXXdkpSLJZq-A3w9WNWZIVFtkwc4l7GFpVYp0K-667lOxvKfk_ujJRE-6Se6lbN7bs6KQ5ZNMHMTdsx9QM5pifto4Xe/s394/gusrella1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="394" data-original-width="378" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUg8lwBKLbmAxzyJAVSu7vCHMgaayquGceMQGkQ3xrKTIVGmXj5AVAydi7pv4YMhcGGYdbGG48gXhFyZC41eLlQzEVFHkuRxXXdkpSLJZq-A3w9WNWZIVFtkwc4l7GFpVYp0K-667lOxvKfk_ujJRE-6Se6lbN7bs6KQ5ZNMHMTdsx9QM5pifto4Xe/s320/gusrella1.jpg" width="307" /></a></div><br /><p>Here is a pic of my new crafting assistants! So much has happened and I just haven't had the time to sit down and edit and post on my blog like I have wanted to. I know the last few years have probably been crazy in so many ways for so many people. There have been lots ups and downs. Things finally seem to be getting a little settled for me so I decided to start updating my blog again. Hopefully this goes a little better this time. I will update my blog with new projects that I am currently working on as well as some stuff I have made over the last few years. These are projects that I may have posted on my <a href="https://www.facebook.com/DeeFillmoreTurcotte" target="_blank">facebook page</a> or my<a href="https://www.instagram.com/deeturcotte/" target="_blank"> instagram</a> or I was totally lazy and didn't post anywhere. </p><p>As usual since I haven't had as much time for crafting, I have been doing lots of shopping for items. I will post some the items that I have picked up over the last few years in future posts. I also have a brand new studio space and as soon as I get it finished, I will post some pics. </p><p>For now, here is a Christmas card that I made last year and I plan on making it again this year. This one is a tone on tone and I used a lot of white shimmer water color for it. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdM11UZZfSNiynVGHRHDnMc9HX7f0DdSRLPWi6kHYSM26N1885Km01A1Ht_jJh0xjCOZ9Rf6t_5Uo8ZRZZD-MEOYH3T2BR0QqLZHkiTrloajEEfddcIgYmdV_Q_-mDhQ1MfS1cOGeoMrSLm19QuTrabFdTRAUaGRf8Qx4EA2uIdHWrOV5eo2YAqrWT/s402/Winter%20Wonderland.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="402" data-original-width="306" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdM11UZZfSNiynVGHRHDnMc9HX7f0DdSRLPWi6kHYSM26N1885Km01A1Ht_jJh0xjCOZ9Rf6t_5Uo8ZRZZD-MEOYH3T2BR0QqLZHkiTrloajEEfddcIgYmdV_Q_-mDhQ1MfS1cOGeoMrSLm19QuTrabFdTRAUaGRf8Qx4EA2uIdHWrOV5eo2YAqrWT/s320/Winter%20Wonderland.jpg" width="244" /></a></div>I painted a piece of water color paper with the White Gold #906 water color paint from Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors set. I basically used this color to paint everything on this card. I then embossed the background piece using the Memory Box Snowy Forest 3D embossing folder & the Deer Trio die cut is also from Memory box. I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Holiday Words: Script for the greeting. The greeting was cut out multiple times and stacked to make it stand out from the background. Painted everything with the same paint a few coats to make it really shine (hard to tell in pictures). I edged the deer piece with a tiny bit of metallic silver ink and then used foam tape to adhere to card. Added some details with Nuvo Glitter Gloss Shimmer Pen and some clear rhinestones. <p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizZjbUjoiAM46UdDHL_WYED17GQEEnGRjRh72M6bOu5NDGUR39zliZpqawEwnmXqG2LcEX-tLaScwXHMqpMeqbur9jk2oFWktdW4ExDWlALfsMWqS4igZrb36BSu5YjbMdXDVNUJ3q9s4NSmZ8PfT6Lk19-GVz3AA3xaHGoPdNwapUkNklMl6-gwI7/s402/Winter%20wonderland%20detail.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="402" data-original-width="306" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizZjbUjoiAM46UdDHL_WYED17GQEEnGRjRh72M6bOu5NDGUR39zliZpqawEwnmXqG2LcEX-tLaScwXHMqpMeqbur9jk2oFWktdW4ExDWlALfsMWqS4igZrb36BSu5YjbMdXDVNUJ3q9s4NSmZ8PfT6Lk19-GVz3AA3xaHGoPdNwapUkNklMl6-gwI7/s320/Winter%20wonderland%20detail.jpg" width="244" /></a></div><br />I am really happy with how this turned out and will definitely be making this one again. <div><br /></div><div>Well I guess that's it for this post. I have lots of items to post so I should be back tomorrow with more. </div><div><br /></div><div>Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting everyone!</div><div>Deanna<br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p></div>Dee Turcottehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05077880178203112647noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2537539465765806424.post-88002352668965086762020-05-05T22:13:00.000-07:002020-05-05T22:13:17.149-07:00Another Thank You Card!So I did a bunch of coloring last month for the 30 day coloring challenge and have all these bits and pieces to use up. I have started putting them together for cards over the last week. Here is one card I came up with for the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Wednesday challenge</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">"Anything Goes"</a><br />
<br />
The cherry blossom stamp is from an old Flourishes stamp set and I used Memento rich cocoa ink to stamp it on Neenah Desert Storm card stock and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils. The greeting is from the Tim Holtz Celebrate greetings die set. I cut it out of black card stock 3 times and stacked it to make it stand out. I edged the desert storm card stock with a white chalk ink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicMonsXVmLs2YbyLKKDZoZgaNS6RsW6487sNvOeTpiFtG7_4EPrwe7uUf4Bc-dNT7Hb10NfIW5FFjUDTxxCbajROpFbZlkwDpkrrRuYMoxytPM7y3TshKuwqPDXyvj-V5wnJLBmuvbQpI/s1600/thankyoublossoms.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="512" data-original-width="672" height="243" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicMonsXVmLs2YbyLKKDZoZgaNS6RsW6487sNvOeTpiFtG7_4EPrwe7uUf4Bc-dNT7Hb10NfIW5FFjUDTxxCbajROpFbZlkwDpkrrRuYMoxytPM7y3TshKuwqPDXyvj-V5wnJLBmuvbQpI/s320/thankyoublossoms.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Pretty simple card but the coloring took forever.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week. <br />

Putting projects together has been a bit more challenging though. I did get inspired to make this card however, and I am happy to see that it works for both <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> Challenges this week. <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/">Monday Challenge</a> - <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=19555">create a scene</a> and <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Wednesday challenge</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-flower-power/">flower power</a>! <br />
<br />
I started this one by coloring a bunch of the die cut pieces from the <a href="https://timholtz.com/">Tim Holtz</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Tim-Holtz-Sizzix-FUNKY-FOLIAGE-Thinlits-Die-Set-663087-663087ths?sscid=41k4_ohh2b&utm_source=ShareASale&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=244984">Funky Foliage</a> thinlits set from Sizzix. I used a combination of copics, prismacolor pencils & distress ink on these pieces. For the background piece I used the Tim Holtz <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Tim-Holtz-Sizzix-LUMBER-3D-Texture-Fades-Embossing-Folder-662718-662718ths?currency=USD">3-d texture fades Lumbe</a>r, I just love 3-d embossing folders, they create such gorgeous backgrounds. I started with Neenah smooth desert sand paper and used distress inks to color it (vintage photo, walnut stain, ground espresso & black soot).<br />
<br />
The greeting is from another Tim Holtz Sizzix die set called <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product?id=320123&sscid=41k4_ohfwt&utm_source=ShareASale&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=244984">Celebrate</a>, I cut it out 3 times and stacked it together and colored it with copic markers YG93, YG95 & YG25.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWjTg_DesDon8ead2RKN-b7rwfQNCK8a3Ec-kMOv0bepu9YATjwMsG62A07_Jcosi2XrFJQ8Ut8fagYfFAMgLMvJmjHO2oPI5h-RtNVC7vKOi8Mao_plV0eFIl6S1ZBJnvMcTiljY9Jys/s1600/floral+thankyou.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="541" data-original-width="404" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWjTg_DesDon8ead2RKN-b7rwfQNCK8a3Ec-kMOv0bepu9YATjwMsG62A07_Jcosi2XrFJQ8Ut8fagYfFAMgLMvJmjHO2oPI5h-RtNVC7vKOi8Mao_plV0eFIl6S1ZBJnvMcTiljY9Jys/s320/floral+thankyou.jpg" width="238" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm not going to list the colors I used for each individual flower but here is a list of copics & prismacolor pencils I used. Copics - E42, E43, E59, YG93, BG01, BG11, BG15, YR21 & R14.<br />
Pencils periwinkle, light blue, goldenrod, Sepia, tuscan red, crimson lake, poppy red, moss green & sienna brown. I also edged everything with vintage photo distress ink.<br />
<br />
I had quite a bit of fun making this project, hopefully I will have time to make a couple more cards this week. <br />
<br />
I really hope everyone is staying safe & healthy.<br />
Until next time, happy crafting<br />

<br />Dee Turcottehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05077880178203112647noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2537539465765806424.post-25657424192357219462020-04-12T21:28:00.002-07:002020-04-19T23:52:24.298-07:00GroovySo I have been doing the daily coloring challenge again and creating more pieces to make into cards. I decided to take a couple of images I have done and make them into a card for the Simon Says <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/">Monday Challenge</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=19551">Add Texture</a>.<br />
<br />
I started by layering a few different patterned papers and then popping the greeting and the gal up on foam dots and adding some rhinestones. It's a simple card but I kind of find myself in a bit of a creative slump right now...anyone one else feeling that way.<br />
<br />
<i>Updated info - The Groovy diecut was cut out on my Cricut Explore Air 2 and is from the Groovy Times cartridge. I switched most of it to dray and colored it with copic marker (Y19, YG25, BG18, BG15 & YR09). The girl character stamp is from the Kindred Stamps Teen Detective set and I used copic markers to color this image as well (E0000, E000, E00, V04, V05, V12, V15, V17, YR09, YR16, YR18, YG23 & YG25) as well as Copic Multiliner Wine & a Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen. I also used an old Stampin Up stamp set to add the flowers and dotted circles to the yellow patterned paper. I think the name of that stamp set is "seeing dots". The patterned paper is mostly from old Bo Bunny 6x6 paper pads, except the tiny blue piece at the front which is from the "Teen detective paper that came in the box set. Finally finished it off with a bunch of rhinestones!</i><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcdp9M4VnI5cZB8CQvx9RXYb3nV_R-u3vjPNUx-oYM2MEx4JYnfa7IssTrHihYEXNpF_mKR6SCgiaUSATws5mNATeM5eOSFiTkFTBBBspIzW0I76SlIixumdNh5CKIRgixdpygNKjR-kY/s1600/groovy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1219" data-original-width="1600" height="243" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcdp9M4VnI5cZB8CQvx9RXYb3nV_R-u3vjPNUx-oYM2MEx4JYnfa7IssTrHihYEXNpF_mKR6SCgiaUSATws5mNATeM5eOSFiTkFTBBBspIzW0I76SlIixumdNh5CKIRgixdpygNKjR-kY/s320/groovy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I'm guessing it has to do with the state of the way the world is right now. Hope everyone out there is doing well, staying safe & healthy.<br />
<br />
I'll be back in a bit to add a few more details, just wanted to get this up before it was too late!<br />

DeeDee Turcottehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05077880178203112647noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2537539465765806424.post-72602688925139176372020-03-31T23:01:00.000-07:002020-03-31T23:01:13.819-07:00So Many PlansI had so many plans for posting this month but jut never got around to it. I have been working from home and figured I would have so much time for crafting and updating my blog, I just didn't get it done.<br />
I have been doing the 30 day coloring challenge and uploading that to my Instagram, so I have been a bit productive! I now have lots of pieces to use for card making. As soon as I get them made I will post them here. <br />
I guess I will still have more crafting time as I will continue to be at home for the next month by the looks of things. Still hard to believe what is going on in the world right now. Taking a break each day and doing the coloring challenge definitely helped me maintain my sanity so a big thank you to Kathy over at <a href="https://www.thedailymarker.com/category/30-day-color-challenge/">The Daily Marker</a> for hosting that event. I believe she is hosting another one from April 7-May 7 if you want to join in for the next round. I know I will be! I will probably try to do a few of the challenges over at the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/">Simon Says Stamp blog</a> as well!<br />
<br />
For now here are a few of the images I colored this last month!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0BqK0Zk0o62elwsUVDWFGKa8u8qbinO1jHTSf51uKzOGUT2VhG1JYKxl5CON58HQTRGf4C6DNQ0u3NrT6DKj7rOAOJpkGm9YpkdyYnOOFU1bl8s70VvBwBJgchgiFjtBwYoSf05plh7s/s1600/kindred+stamp+images+done.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="528" data-original-width="510" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0BqK0Zk0o62elwsUVDWFGKa8u8qbinO1jHTSf51uKzOGUT2VhG1JYKxl5CON58HQTRGf4C6DNQ0u3NrT6DKj7rOAOJpkGm9YpkdyYnOOFU1bl8s70VvBwBJgchgiFjtBwYoSf05plh7s/s320/kindred+stamp+images+done.jpg" width="309" /></a></div>
<br />
These little characters are all from <a href="https://www.kindredstamps.com/">Kindred Stamps</a> and I colored them all with copic markers. I will list the copic colors for each one when I put them on a card. The blossom piece in behind them , is an old stamp from a company called Flourishes - I do believe this company has gone out of business. <br />
<br />
For this next piece I used the Tim Holtz Mechanics 3D texture fade embossing folder. This is one of my all time favorite embossing folders. The picture below it is all the inks I used on the piece. This was supposed to be for the Simon Says stamp Steampunk Challenge but I didn't get a project finished with it.<br />

I totally plan to make something with this over the next few days. As soon as I do I will post it. I also mentioned I picked up a few pieces for my craft room a few posts back and one of those items is in this picture. I finally got the Tim Holtz glass mat for my craft desk. I am so happy with this purchase and it makes doing many of these projects so much easier and clean up is a breeze!<br />
<br />
Well thanks for stopping by, please stay healthy and safe everyone!<br />

Here is another card I made this week. Since the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Wednesday challenge</a> over at <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> is <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-anything-goes-70/">Anything Goes</a>, I decided I should post this as well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the background piece I used distress inks to make the night sky and the moon. I used a black marker to create the spiral hill. The cute little characters are from the <a href="https://www.kindredstamps.com/">Kindred Stamps</a> set Holidays are a Nightmare (Retired), I colored them with Copic Markers and fussy cut them out and added them to the card. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiHECfqXuF7L_vpsxH_xfU41px1HlvZf2zwIXX4FIyE4J3DLBy-HdtATRwaqV4ZyL-yVMATGW6h2NojDCt8LMgwATXjgqOxQP0HAb0KjJJmDEPHeU6fMA8ck_YvcnlWjknoacSlO1aQVM/s1600/nightmare.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="670" data-original-width="510" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiHECfqXuF7L_vpsxH_xfU41px1HlvZf2zwIXX4FIyE4J3DLBy-HdtATRwaqV4ZyL-yVMATGW6h2NojDCt8LMgwATXjgqOxQP0HAb0KjJJmDEPHeU6fMA8ck_YvcnlWjknoacSlO1aQVM/s320/nightmare.jpg" width="243" /></a></div>
Ok, that's all the details for this card. I'll be back in a couple of days with another post.<br />
Happy Crafting, thanks for stopping by!<br />

<br />
For this one I made a watercolor galaxy background and edged it and the greeting with silver embossing powder. The greeting & the ship stamp are both from the <a href="https://www.kindredstamps.com/">Kindred Stamps</a> <a href="https://www.kindredstamps.com/collections/all-stamp-sets/products/6x8-space-explorers-clear-stamp-set">Space Explorers</a> set. I colored it the ship with copic markers and then covered it with clear embossing powder to make it shiny! The planets are done with prismacolor pencils. Popped the ship up on foam squares to make it really stand out.<br />

It may never happen again LOLS π. So when I don't have enough time to sit down and make a complete project I will tackle smaller pieces. Sometimes I will create background pieces, stamp out a bunch of images to color or simply sit down and color pieces. That way when I get to spend some time in my craft room I can just pull out all the pieces and make something. This is a card I made that works well for this weeks <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Wednesday Challenge</a> - <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-add-a-sentiment/">Add A Sentiment.</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyhIllSlsEvejOi3OFBb5mgdAH-gJ0dKGwiDZ3cVCQt2G7Wqur9p2aTrlnPycMv_L2G4NgCsC7kj3IS6ga59VFuRzZWg1mesMiefH20TVnbswif8YKZ33ItM9Wzv5ebsakwsui7P3Yw24/s1600/Loveglitter1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="565" data-original-width="428" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyhIllSlsEvejOi3OFBb5mgdAH-gJ0dKGwiDZ3cVCQt2G7Wqur9p2aTrlnPycMv_L2G4NgCsC7kj3IS6ga59VFuRzZWg1mesMiefH20TVnbswif8YKZ33ItM9Wzv5ebsakwsui7P3Yw24/s320/Loveglitter1.jpg" width="242" /></a></div>
For this card I used patterned paper from an old Bo Bunny 6" paper collection called Head Over Heels. I cut the Love sentiment out on the Cricut Explore Air 2 as well as the hearts. For the glitter heart I covered the paper with a double sided sticker sheet first and then added some glitter ritz ultra fine red glitter. I had originally cut the greeting out of pink card stock but decided it need to be darker so I colored it with some copic markers and popped it up with foam tape. I added a few rhinestones in top corner for a little more bling.<br />
<br />
I guess that is all the details for this cards....will try and return with another project soon. Hopefully it won't take a few months π<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting<br />

I have had some crafting time recently and been working on a bunch of different things. As well, over the last year I have made a few purchases of items for my craft studio and some new supplies. I will post more about those later....now that I actually have time to post again.<br />
<br />
First though I thought I might do a challenge or two to get me to actually post π<br />
<br />
The first place I always go when I am looking for a craft challenge is over to the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> challenge blogs. They are always so much fun and provide so much fabulous inspiration! This weeks <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/">Monday challenge</a> is <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=19293">Frame It</a> and I made a card that works well for this challenge.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinfJq0vc3YDCEO0A_5A8oDLPl2cSKmJMP2jyoFsMuy3r-EeAWbUTL6OSqxe9m8O6_t5JisqyY94jTq-2uOkx4jR87pa74HDJo9sw0Piv_n7uqSciObc_LZXBNC8NLOXHcTL418nFEY958/s1600/framed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="670" data-original-width="510" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinfJq0vc3YDCEO0A_5A8oDLPl2cSKmJMP2jyoFsMuy3r-EeAWbUTL6OSqxe9m8O6_t5JisqyY94jTq-2uOkx4jR87pa74HDJo9sw0Piv_n7uqSciObc_LZXBNC8NLOXHcTL418nFEY958/s320/framed.jpg" width="243" /></a></div>
The cute little character in the middle is from the Legendary stamp set by Kindred Stamps and I colored it with Copic markers. I did a few accents with a gold marker & a rhinestone on the crown. The green frame piece (from the Antiquities card cartridge) was cut on my Cricut Explore Air 2 (one of those new pieces I was talking about π ). This is a nice simple card that can be used for many occasions.<br />
<br />
Ok, that's it for now, back to crafting and see what pieces I have that I can put together for another card.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting everyone.<br />

I was so positive I was going to be better at posting this year, but life got in the way. We ended up moving our store yet again and that took months of extra work before, during and after the move. So here we are mid October and I finally have a little crafting time. Hopefully I will be able to spend more time in my craft studio over the next few months. I will endeavor to update my blog as I go. <br />
<br />
I did pick up a bunch of new craft supplies this year, I have made a few things and I will try and post the older projects over the next few weeks. <br />
<br />
You will notice in my last post from way back in January that I am really loving the stamps from <a href="https://www.kindredstamps.com/">Kindred Stamps</a>! I did buy quite a few more sets this year and I finally got a chance to make a card with some of them. <br />
<br />
When I get new sets, I tend to stamp a bunch of the images out and color the images in while watching TV. I cut the images out and then make cards with them.<br />
<br />
Here is the first card I made using the Bursting Love stamp set. I stamped the images with Memento tuxedo black ink and colored them with copic markers. The back ground panel was made with the the Tim Holtz 3d texture fade embossing Folder "Foundry" and several inks (distress inks pumice stone, & hickory smoke, memento london fog, prima tin can & encore silver metallic) the additional strip was a small piece cut from another texture fade panel (colored with the same inks) but this one is called "Mechanics" and I added a few black rhinestones. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Guess that's about it for this post. Will attempt to be back with more in a few days! (fingers crossed π)</div>

We have been super busy at the store, so I haven't had much time for crafting and now we are doing inventory!!! I did buy myself some new stamps for Christmas and I have been doing a bit of coloring. All the stamps I bought are from <a href="https://www.kindredstamps.com/">Kindred Stamps</a> and I can't wait to get some projects made from these. I just love all of their stamps, I have well over a dozen stamps sets and probably 30 more on my wish list.<br />
<br />
So here are a couple of pics of my stamp haul and some coloring I have been working on. I also got the Limited Edition Space Heroes mystery box. You can see a couple of the stamps you would get in that set in the picture below. I'm not posting a full picture of what's in the Mystery box because it's a mystery until you get it π<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I changed it up a bit this time and added even more gold embossing!!! Can you ever have too much gold embossing...LOLS! This one is for the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/">Monday Challenge</a> "<a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=14740">Warm Winter Wishes</a>"<br />
<br />
I used all the same items to create the poinsettia, I just changed up everything else! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrdOTxCMWEOEQnhyeGdTCphNRY-9zzMj0bRo_Q5UZ3k3NPu_vAxjAPc352f_N6IBIXtt6xsJGpV8yyAWloiT-fAd8npuURNsz4A9cB-vDIE-9Q1N_aC8FgKP9Kk_FI1ZWEpdlw5It3pQY/s1600/mcgold1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="404" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrdOTxCMWEOEQnhyeGdTCphNRY-9zzMj0bRo_Q5UZ3k3NPu_vAxjAPc352f_N6IBIXtt6xsJGpV8yyAWloiT-fAd8npuURNsz4A9cB-vDIE-9Q1N_aC8FgKP9Kk_FI1ZWEpdlw5It3pQY/s320/mcgold1.jpg" width="229" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When I first put the card together it didn't have the gold embossed design on the side! The card seemed to be missing some detail so I added it at the end. I think it just needed that added detail to complete it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggOOhHVzP-qr7W3tsQTJYbqYbLDVavACYzw944dYNq5LHCWdgKqayQWk8weXCD_6WuUh8A5yb2jz1G41GJUbes5aISplQ_4elVAORdHTVKnjEPguvfM2FMtWB1Lj5nidlpiqHIQG2DAH0/s1600/mcgold2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="670" data-original-width="510" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggOOhHVzP-qr7W3tsQTJYbqYbLDVavACYzw944dYNq5LHCWdgKqayQWk8weXCD_6WuUh8A5yb2jz1G41GJUbes5aISplQ_4elVAORdHTVKnjEPguvfM2FMtWB1Lj5nidlpiqHIQG2DAH0/s320/mcgold2.jpg" width="243" /></a></div>
The greeting was die cut using the Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Holiday Word Script dies and then I embossed it with Simon Says Stamp Ultra Fine Gold embossing powder. <br />

So I can enter it for the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Wednesday Challenge</a> "<a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-anything-goes-56/">Anything Goes</a>". The great part is the image & greeting are both from a Wild Rose Studios stamp set, which is the product they are showcasing this week.<br />
<br />
The stamp set is called Winter Cottages, I stamped the image with Simon Says Intense Black Ink & colored the image with Prismacolor Premier pencils!<br />

I have been busy doing the Daily Marker 30 day challenge and making lots of pieces for cards. When I checked what the new challenge was last week I decided to put together some of the pieces for another Star Trek themed card. I posted it on my Instagram for another challenge and forgot to tag it for the Simon Says Challenge as well.<br />
<br />
So here we are with my post from Instagram with a few more details! I made the galaxy background with distress inks, shimmer watercolor paint & Copic opaque white paint for the stars. I edged it with Silver embossing powder by Ranger, also did the same for the greeting!<br />

I ordered a stamp set from <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> back in September & I finally got it last week! This is the bookmark I made for the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/">Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge</a> for this week. <br />
<br />
This bookmark might not make any sense to anyone else, but trust me the person I made it for will love it! It is a combination of a bunch of her favorite things. I'm even tempted to add a little more to the back, which is just covered with patterned paper at the moment.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I made the pieces at different times, I was waiting for the Newton's Nook TeaRex stamp to arrive to complete this project. I will add a list of supplies used tomorrow. I have to find the rest of the info hidden somewhere in my craft studio, this could take a while LOLS.<br />
Partial supply list<br />
TeaRex stamp & die - Newton's Nook<br />
TeaRex colored with Prismacolor premier pencils<br />
Otter Stamp & die - My Favorite Things<br />
Otter & Water colored with copic markers (W1, W2, W4, & W6, fish YR02, YR04, YR07 water BG70, BG72, BG75)<br />
<br />
Oh and in case you were wondering, here are all the goodies that I got in my order! The mail has been on rotating strike here and this order & Kit got mailed out on the 18th of October & I finally got it on the 27th of November! I can't wait to make some other stuff with all these great new products!<br />
I had to pass on the December card kit, I figured it wouldn't make it here until January (and I'm sad because it was filled with some fantastic goodies).<br />

However, the challenge this week over at the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Wednesday Challenge Blog</a> is "<a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-baby-cold-outside/">Baby It's Cold Outside</a>" and I decided to use a piece I did for the Daily Marker 30 day coloring challenge to create a card. <br />
<br />
I also had to color a background & companion piece for this Jon Snow. Too bad I don't have a "winter is coming" stamp π. Anyhow I used some distress inks to create the back panel then stamped it with snow flakes & clear embossed them. After that I decided to use a star stamp and perfect pearls to add more frosty look to it. It was really hard to get a good picture of it. The birch tree die cut piece is also covered with perfect pearls. I distressed the trees a bit with some grey ink chalk ink & Faber Castell Iced coffee gelatos, I also decided to use the perfect pearls on the trees (doesn't show up well in the picture).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9478w4FByE2EYsavESvI-Rh0SuHMDWm3uMfShsfyLPsxMBlHM85IiPBIyMxq7QNV78iV6-OrYu8SwN0tiPeJAqzW4Gv2Qxe0PfBpbuxYTRPNfDbOztsOM_dMXhLok6Q8ZzzfwNjSLMx0/s1600/Snow1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="670" data-original-width="510" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9478w4FByE2EYsavESvI-Rh0SuHMDWm3uMfShsfyLPsxMBlHM85IiPBIyMxq7QNV78iV6-OrYu8SwN0tiPeJAqzW4Gv2Qxe0PfBpbuxYTRPNfDbOztsOM_dMXhLok6Q8ZzzfwNjSLMx0/s320/Snow1.jpg" width="243" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I colored Jon & Ghost with copic markers, fussy cut them out and then edged them with black ink to make sure they didn't have any rough edges. Ghost is glued directly on the card and Jon is popped up with foam squares.</div>

<br />
I'm just going to pop the pictures and links up here for tonight and add the other info tomorrow.<br />
<br />
I love this Stampendous Snow Postcard stamp and I make at least one card every year with it! I always have so much fun coming up with a new way to color it. This year I used Prismacolor Premier pencils, tonic nuvo glitter gloss pen & some distress inks.<br />
<br />
Hard to get a good picture of the glitter on the snow but I tried! It really sparkles in person!<br />

So I did update my blog post from yesterday and then decided to do another challenge. I went over to the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge</a> blog and their challenge this week is <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-glitters-gold/">gold</a>! Well that seemed like fun and I had a great idea for a card. I think it turned out OK and I had a lot of fun embossing everything.<br />
<br />
I started by cutting out the Poinsettia with the Poppy Stamps Blooming Poinsettia die & Neenah smooth solar white 110lb paper and then colored all the pieces with copic markers(R22, R24, R27, R29, G24, G28 & G29).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijHVPXkH4JQvXwVr05gyxdR4kYh82AM5mJfXU8ZZx2XQlUcUWKRZDlDGDNd7FWkRvNGY9RV56g2n2IQIKyexkMcA4GVf8pFrOQLPdu_IxkENIbp-f4bCXtOUODqSLhfGifp5f4r0WtDuI/s1600/gold1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="670" data-original-width="510" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijHVPXkH4JQvXwVr05gyxdR4kYh82AM5mJfXU8ZZx2XQlUcUWKRZDlDGDNd7FWkRvNGY9RV56g2n2IQIKyexkMcA4GVf8pFrOQLPdu_IxkENIbp-f4bCXtOUODqSLhfGifp5f4r0WtDuI/s320/gold1.jpg" width="243" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I dipped the edges in distress embossing ink and used Simon Says Stamp ultra fine gold embossing powder on the edges of the petals, leave & for the center piece. I wanted a fairly simple card to show off the Poinsettia so I pulled out an old scrap of Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and repeated the same steps on the edge of the paper as I did on the poinsettia. For the greeting I used an old Inkadinkado stamp set called Warm Holiday Wishes and also embossed it. Not one part of this project was safe from that gold embossing powder π<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIDtuzcdfa-fCGBS2VhrBUR3ame9cPp4ZKFJ0hHdmRZO8VoxOLopVydsgLzohfMgI_qXLmEqZiwk6ETdQHI_bEW4wbPSn7x7_eZ0J1c7rotBOHv9csmtiCMhW2H_wc4jUYs4cQmsSqSrk/s1600/gold2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="541" data-original-width="436" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIDtuzcdfa-fCGBS2VhrBUR3ame9cPp4ZKFJ0hHdmRZO8VoxOLopVydsgLzohfMgI_qXLmEqZiwk6ETdQHI_bEW4wbPSn7x7_eZ0J1c7rotBOHv9csmtiCMhW2H_wc4jUYs4cQmsSqSrk/s320/gold2.jpg" width="257" /></a></div>
<br />
I attached the poinsettia to the card with Nuvo deluxe adhesive and once it dried I curled the petals up a bit to give it some dimension.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I also decided to redo my craft studio (mainly desk area) today, I will be back in a few days to post the pictures of how it turned out.<br />

I know it I am thankful everyday for so many things, too many to list! I think it is important to stop and be grateful for all that we have not just at Thanksgiving, but everyday!<br />
<br />
I am going to post the pictures for this challenge tonight and then add the details for the card tomorrow.<br />
<i>Update</i><br />
<i>To start I inked some wild honey & fired brick distress ink on a piece of Neenah smooth solar white card stock. I used an old Inkadinkado stamp set & versa mark ink to stamp the leaves & coated it with clear detail embossing powder. After I heat set the powder I continued using inks (distress inks - fired brick, wild honey, vintage photo, walnut stain, distress oxide inks peeled paint & walnut stain) to create this colorful background. I can't resist doing the water splatter technique (did a little too much - so I had to ink it up some more). </i><br />
<i>I then stamped more of the leaf scroll around the edge of the paper and the greeting with MFT Hybrid ink Hot Fudge. I decided the greeting didn't stand out enough so I put it back in the Misti and stamped it again with versa mark and used embossing powder on it as well. The two Inkadinkado stamp sets I used are Fall Season & Harvest Expressions.</i><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>I'm really happy with how the card turned out. I will probably try this technique on some Christmas cards next! I'm thinking this will look pretty with some blues & snowflake stamps!</i></div>

I<i> was hoping to use the Simon Says November Card Kit for this challenge. Unfortunately the with the postal strike that is on right now my parcel is still sitting at the border. Maybe I'll get it in time for Christmas!</i><br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
So, as I have said before, I have a shopping problem...when I can't craft I shop for supplies that I plan to use eventually! Today is that day, actually the last couple of weeks have been. I am finally getting time to sit in my craft studio and use all the fun things I have been buying over the last several months.<br />
<br />
Since I own a comic store, I always look for comic related items and found a ton at <a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/">Simon Says Stamp</a> with the new dies by Character World. I bought one to star & I liked it so much that I may have bought a few more!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmfoZSIBinZ2bgRk1_Na8oqRPzbGV3zTNwAUjYLqq42nNnnvtOqe15l-OF_ljn6LT0IDQhJ6sfn2U0GBoJGNh4sRE8R_RjS5DX_XG2SQCxBhwEBvAQ9p62eF1qAUkPT21L-wY8VJpk1RM/s1600/hulk1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="670" data-original-width="510" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmfoZSIBinZ2bgRk1_Na8oqRPzbGV3zTNwAUjYLqq42nNnnvtOqe15l-OF_ljn6LT0IDQhJ6sfn2U0GBoJGNh4sRE8R_RjS5DX_XG2SQCxBhwEBvAQ9p62eF1qAUkPT21L-wY8VJpk1RM/s320/hulk1.jpg" width="243" /></a></div>
This card is for the Simon Says Stamp <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Wednesday Challenge</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-anything-goes-55/">Anything Goes</a>!<br />
<br />
I die cut the hulk using Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and colored him with copic markers (G21, G28, G29, BV20, BV23, BV25, BV29, C5, C7, C9 & R02) the die comes with a face stamp and that was the hardest part, thank goodness for my Misti or I may never have lined that up properlyπ. I really wanted to have the Hulk bursting through the wall so I used the Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Bricks & Bark folder to create the wall and cut a piece out of the middle. I cut some of the bricks up and attached them to the bottom of the card with foam squares. I was going for a messy look from the chaos of the wall being destroyed and put everything at angles even the greeting (Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Thinlits Celebrate die set). The wall and greeting were cut out of black card stock, I distressed the wall & bricks with white & grey chalk inks and colored the greeting (triple stacked) with a black wink of stella pen. I glued the one leg that is behind the wall flat and then used foam dots to adhere the Hulk in place.<br />

This weeks challenge was <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=14464">Take Flight</a> and I decided to make another tag and use this cute little dragonfly embellishment that I've had floating around my craft studio for years!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I started with a plain tag and colored the background with Tim Holtz distress inks (wild honey, tea dye, fired brick, vintage photo & walnut stain), and used the wild honey & vintage photo to stamp the leaves (Inkadinkado fall season stamp set) on the tag. The die cut elements are from the Tim Holtz alterations hardware findings die and I sponged them with vintage photo, walnut stain & Brilliance cosmic copper inks. I sliced the one die down the middle and used it to edge each side of the tag. As I mentioned earlier the little dragonfly has been in my stash for years and I put a few drops of red alcohol ink on it to get it to blend with the colors in the tag a little more. It still needed a little something so I adhered a few rhinestones to add a little more detail.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHGUpe_LtWSdvrxoB8hO4v0cajzJljJ6IHcotXp-tDYJtaEWl6mA8pzG73Rq5Jxs3FDjT9elpVI0L_87setlqNvVSV5Yv3e5y3Dr3so-n6Yo2JKcAvbQc04nQFDS86qoBZGq0-KmTQZiA/s1600/flighttag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="617" data-original-width="407" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHGUpe_LtWSdvrxoB8hO4v0cajzJljJ6IHcotXp-tDYJtaEWl6mA8pzG73Rq5Jxs3FDjT9elpVI0L_87setlqNvVSV5Yv3e5y3Dr3so-n6Yo2JKcAvbQc04nQFDS86qoBZGq0-KmTQZiA/s320/flighttag.jpg" width="211" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well, now I have to go clean up the mess I made, don't think I'm ever going to get the red alcohol ink out of my jeans but oh well! Must remember to put on the old clothes before I start working in my studio, LOL!</div>
<div>

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting everyone!</div>

I decided to try a few new techniques working with distress oxide inks and water. It worked out really well but hard to tell in the pictures.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I started by blending peeled paint and walnut stain oxide inks on the tag and then lifting the color using a tree stamp and water (that is what doesn't show up to well in the pictures). I also stamped the tree on the edge of the tag with vintage photo distress ink and edged the tag with walnut stain and black soot distress inks. The tree stamp is from and old Basic Grey Halloween "Spooky" stamp set that is one of my favorites and I dig it out every Halloween. The other stamps are from a couple of sets by My Mind's Eye "Happy Haunting" & "Lost & Found Halloween". I stamped the images & greeting with black archival ink and added a few enamel dots (also from My Mind's Eye). The little cat was made using the Poppy Stamps curious cat die and then used an assortment of ribbons & string on the top.</div>

<i>For the interior panel I started with white card stock and masked off the moon, then used Distress Inks to create the background (tumbled glass, broken china, blueprint sketch & black soot). Colored the moon with PrismaColor pencils Canary Yellow, White and Derwent watercolor pencil Deep Cadmium). Tree is from the stamp set "Spooky" by Basic Grey (one of my go to stamp sets at Halloween, I've had this set for almost ten years), added a bunch of highlights to the trees, sky and ground using prismacolor white & cool grey 20% pencils. I popped the house (Memory Box -Country House) up using foam squares.</i></div>

However, I have been doing some crafting and posting it on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/deeturcotte/">Instagram</a>, just haven't had time to sit down and update my blog. I really want to try and keep on top of this for the next few months, even though they will be hectic as I work in retail. <br />
<br />
I have been doing lots of shopping, stamping & coloring and now it is time to put it all together and create some projects. First up I made another galaxy background using watercolor paints and some distress inks and decided to use my <a href="https://www.kindredstamps.com/">Kindred Stamps</a> <a href="https://www.kindredstamps.com/collections/pop-culture/products/6x8-space-explorers-clear-stamp-set">Space Explorers stamp set</a> to make a card for the <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/">Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge</a> <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=14459">"Starry Night"</a><br />

<br />
After I finished the Galaxy piece I used some white gesso to create the splatters and then I edged the piece with Ranger silver super fine detail embossing powder. I didn't want a perfect border so I just edged it with the embossing ink and dipped the edges in the powder. The greeting that goes with the stamp set says "Go Boldly" so I just snipped it apart and changed it & used the same embossing powder for it.<br />

<br />
I colored the ship with copic markers (C0, C2, C4, C6, C9, Y19, Y0000, YR24,YR18, YR27 & Y26) and then covered it with clear detail embossing powder to give it a bit of a shine. The planet and I think it kind of looks like an asteroid :) are from the Brutus Monroe Lucky Star stamp set, they are are colored with some watercolor markers and some distress inks. I adhered them to the card with some foam dots and the ship is popped up on thicker dots so that it stands out more.<br />
<br />
I think that covers most of the details for the card. I'm really quite happy with how it turned out.<br />
<br />
Guess that's it for now, off to check out the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge to see what I can come up with!<br />
