NOTE Sometimes it's fun to check out the feedjit live tracker to see how people find your blog.  Today I found out that I had a project published on another website.  Fortunately I put my name on the pictures of all my projects, and the picture they used links back to my blog.  So I am returning the favor and posting a link to the website Top Boxes.  There are all kinds of great craft projects on this site.

I guess I better get back in my craft room and get all my stuff ready for the Garage Sale on Sunday.  I hope to have another project to post in a couple of days.

Thanks for stopping by, happy crafting everyone!

Oh Alice -----------to----------The Altered Alice

Remember last week when I didn't get my card in on time for the challenge, well I might even be late today. Not too sure because I'm in a different time zone, I'm going to link it just in case.  The Oh Alice site is switching over to the Altered Alice and the challenges will be monthly, surely I should be able to get a card done and posted in that time without being late.  Here is my card, I will post the details later as I'm off to teach a class in an hour.
Update  OK, I guess I posted this in time for the challenge.  As promised here are a few more details on this card.  The "Twisted Tea" stamp is a digi from The Greeting Farm.  I colored it with copic markers.  The greeting is from the Flourishes stamp set "Tag Lines".  The patterned paper is from Basic Grey.  The gems were a lighter blue but I colored them with a prisma marker so the would stand out a bit more.  It is hard to tell but the image is popped up from the main card on 3d dots and then the greeting is popped up even more.

Thanks for stopping by!

New Toy!!!

I've have been wanting one of these for awhile now and last week they were on sale so I finally bought myself a Gypsy.  I spent a frustrating afternoon trying to get all the software downloaded from the website ( I think they really need better instructions on there, and I'm not the only one with that opinion).  However, once that was done and loaded and my Cricut was updated it was super easy to use.  I have to say I love, love, love my Gypsy.  First of all no more having to change cartridges all the time, second never having to look endlessly through the little books to figure out what images I have.  And there are tons of other features that I just don't have time to list.

I have also been busy in my studio sorting and deciding what to sell in the  Craft Garage Sale this Sunday Jan. 30th at Scrap Arts.  Time to get rid of some stuff I'm not using to make way for all the new stuff I want to get LOL.  For more details about the Garage Sale please contact Scrap Arts at 604-980-8811.

I'm Late, I'm Late.....

I just missed the cut off for the Oh Alice! blog challenge.  I thought I had until midnight to post this but I just realized it was supposed to be 8pm CST.  Oh well I'm going to post this on my blog anyway.  So for this challenge you had to choose the Red Queen's or White Queen's court and make your card/project mostly red or white.  I decided to go with the Red Queen.

This card is done with red and black bazzill card stock.  I used stamps from the Crafty Secrets "Greetings from Wonderland" stamp set and from Basic Grey "Flourish Corners" stamp set.  I colored the image with copics & prisma color markers.

I'm going to try to get the challenge for this week done and posted early.  I also have another challenge I want to get finished for Sunday.  I will post as soon as I have it finished.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time happy crafting everyone.

Quick and Easy New Baby Cards!

I really didn't have much of a chance to do any crafting last weekend.  I did make a couple of cards for card kits we sell at Scrap Arts.  Here are 2 quick and easy cards for a new baby.  The whale and giraffe are cut out on the cricut using create a critter cartridge.  I also used labels one and scalloped circles spellbinders.  It is hard to tell but the background card stock on the whale card is embossed using the cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder.  The striped paper on the giraffe card is from webster's pages lullaby lane collection.

Thanks for stopping by I hope to have more to post tomorrow or Thursday.

Cricut & Big Shot Class

I will also be teaching a Cricut & Big Shot 101 class in January & February.  We will go over the basics of both machines and make 4 projects.  I will be posting class dates on my class schedule page today.  Here are 2 of the projects we will be making in that class.  I will post a group photo of all 4 projects in a couple of days.  I will put it on the class schedule page.

The first project is a cute little gift box.  I found the instructions for the box part on Splitcoast Stampers (click link for instructions).  I don't have the top note die that they used in the tutorial.  I decided to change it up a bit (I was never very good at following instructions exactly...lol).  I used the labels one spellbinders and petite ovals for mine.  I also decide to put the ribbon around the box part.  You'll see the difference if you look at the tutorial from Splitcoast.  The papers I used are bazzill card stock french vanilla and parakeet.  The stamps are from flourishes. I really have to learn to slow down and take better pictures, these are not the greatest.
I promise the ribbon isn't actually as crooked as it looks in the picture on this next card.  The patterned paper for this card is from the curio line by basic grey.  The rectangles and ovals are cut on the cricut and the pieces on either side of the ovals are cut out using the spellbinders shapeabilities pendants in spades.
Well I guess I better get that class schedule posted soon.  Don't forget you can look at all the classes being offered at Scrap Arts here

Trying out a new look...

So I have been busy cleaning and putting away all the Christmas decorations and decided I needed to change my blog too.  I'm trying  this new background for now but, I'm sure I'll change it again soon.

Here are the final 2 samples from my Every Occasion card class.

The stamps for both samples are by Flourishes (Gerber Daisies & Tag Lines).  The pictures are not the greatest, I was in a hurry to get the samples to Scrap Arts.  For the first card I used the Gerber daisy stamp and black memento ink. After I stamped the image I cut it out using petite ovals from spellbinders.  I painted the image using twinkling H2O's and watercolor pencils.  The background paper is embossed using the Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder.  The detail on this embossing folder is amazing (the picture really doesn't do it justice).  The paper is Bo Bunny Peacock Lane Bleu.  The ovals and circle are popped up with 3d dots.
The next card is an easel card, I love this style.  Again I used the black memento ink to stamp image and verse. The smaller butterfly over the inside verse was stamped using peeled paint distress ink.  The patterned paper is the reverse side of the paper I used in the first card.  I colored the image with watercolor pencils (naples yellow, sky blue, primrose & may green). I used the cuttlebug embossing folder stylized flowers for the background on the top panel.  I also colored plain bling with a chartreuse prisma color marker for the butterfly wing on the bottom panel.

Well, I better get back to work.  I still have a few more class samples to finish this week.  Thanks for visiting my blog.

More class samples as promised!

Do you know what I love about a new year?  That everything seems fresh and new and full of possibilities.  I have more energy and feel like being in my studio more.  Of course we've had 4 beautiful days of sunshine.  I'm sure the minute it rains everything will change LOL.

Well I have been busy in my studio the last couple of days and here are the other 2 samples I promised.  I will have a couple of more to post either tomorrow or Wednesday.

This card is done using the Cherries & Peaches stamp set from Flourishes.  The card base measures 5.5" x 6" (score 6" side @ 3").  I cut the circles on the cricut 3" for the cherries. 1.5" for the verse.   I stamped the cherries and the verse with black memento ink.  I used watercolor pencils to color image (pink madder lake, crimson lake, madder carmine, mineral green, bottle green, water green & chocolate).  I embossed the white card stock with the swiss dot cuttlebug folder.  The patterned paper is Best Creations Sweet Love GP342.

This card measures 4"x4" and is done using bitter chocolate & french vanilla card stock.  The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Curio line.  I cut the scalloped circles out using spellbinders.  It is hard to tell in the picture but I used the outside pieces and built them up with 3d dots so that the frame around the bird is raised.  The image stamps are from the crafty secrets Fairyland set and the verse is from the Flourishes Tag Line set.  I colored plain bling with a cherry prisma marker to get the color to match the paper.  I forgot to write down the colors I used here but the images are colored with watercolor pencils.

I'm not the only one in the house enjoying the sun.  Kit finds a sunbeam and soaks it for hours.  It makes here very lazy. Here is a picture of her soaking up the sun and yawning (must be hard work sleeping on a big comfy chair LOL)
I think she might be a little bit upset that I disturbed her :).  Oh well. back to my studio.  Have a great day and until next time, happy crafty everyone.

Happy New Year to All!

I hope 2011 is off to a good start for everyone.  I've had a productive day so far.  I managed to get a card done and am heading back to my craft room to make another. These cards are for my new class cards for January.  The weather here was beautiful and the sunset amazing.

I bought 2 new Flourish stamp sets the other day.  I'm bored with the stamps I have for classes. This first card was made using the Cherries & Peaches stamp set by Flourishes.  I stamped the image with black memento ink and colored it with watercolor pencils (flesh pink, orange chrome, spectrum orange, may green, olive green & cedar green).  I edged the paper with Persimmon versa magic ink.  The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Curio line called Heirloom.  I used the d'vine swirls cuttlebug embossing folder and edged it with the persimmon ink as well.

My new year's resolution is to try and keep my studio neater (lol).  I have a habit of cleaning up but after I make one card it ends up looking like this.

I have a bad habit of walking away from the room and closing the door and forgetting about how I left it.  I went in there today and realized I left two inks our without their lids (YIKES),  I hope they still work.

Well that's all for now.  I will post my next card tomorrow or Monday. I wish everyone a very healthy and happy 2011.  Until next time, happy crafting everyone.
