Finally got some time to spend in my craft room tonight and managed to finish a project for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Let It Snow"
I'm just going to pop the pictures and links up here for tonight and add the other info tomorrow.
I love this Stampendous Snow Postcard stamp and I make at least one card every year with it! I always have so much fun coming up with a new way to color it. This year I used Prismacolor Premier pencils, tonic nuvo glitter gloss pen & some distress inks.
Hard to get a good picture of the glitter on the snow but I tried! It really sparkles in person!
More details tomorrow
Update - details
Stamped the image with Simon Says Intense Black Ink
Prismacolor Premier pencils - Cool Grey 20%, Sky Blue light, Sepia, Dark Umber, Sienna Brown, Canary Yellow, Orange, Chartreuse, Kelp Green, Dark Green, Crimson Red, Crimson Lake & White
Distress Inks - Vintage Photo & Walnut Stain
Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen

All That Glitters Is Gold!
So many projects to create & post, so little time. So I did update my blog post from yesterday and then decided to do another challenge. I went over to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog and their challenge this week is gold! Well that seemed like fun and I had a great idea for a card. I think it turned out OK and I had a lot of fun embossing everything.
I started by cutting out the Poinsettia with the Poppy Stamps Blooming Poinsettia die & Neenah smooth solar white 110lb paper and then colored all the pieces with copic markers(R22, R24, R27, R29, G24, G28 & G29).
Then I dipped the edges in distress embossing ink and used Simon Says Stamp ultra fine gold embossing powder on the edges of the petals, leave & for the center piece. I wanted a fairly simple card to show off the Poinsettia so I pulled out an old scrap of Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and repeated the same steps on the edge of the paper as I did on the poinsettia. For the greeting I used an old Inkadinkado stamp set called Warm Holiday Wishes and also embossed it. Not one part of this project was safe from that gold embossing powder 😊
I attached the poinsettia to the card with Nuvo deluxe adhesive and once it dried I curled the petals up a bit to give it some dimension.
I also decided to redo my craft studio (mainly desk area) today, I will be back in a few days to post the pictures of how it turned out.
Thanks for stopping by & happy crafting everyone!

Be Thankful
Well I didn't get to do the challenges last week, I did manage to get one done for this week The challenge this week over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog is Thanks/Thanksgiving! I know it I am thankful everyday for so many things, too many to list! I think it is important to stop and be grateful for all that we have not just at Thanksgiving, but everyday!
I am going to post the pictures for this challenge tonight and then add the details for the card tomorrow.
Update
To start I inked some wild honey & fired brick distress ink on a piece of Neenah smooth solar white card stock. I used an old Inkadinkado stamp set & versa mark ink to stamp the leaves & coated it with clear detail embossing powder. After I heat set the powder I continued using inks (distress inks - fired brick, wild honey, vintage photo, walnut stain, distress oxide inks peeled paint & walnut stain) to create this colorful background. I can't resist doing the water splatter technique (did a little too much - so I had to ink it up some more).
I then stamped more of the leaf scroll around the edge of the paper and the greeting with MFT Hybrid ink Hot Fudge. I decided the greeting didn't stand out enough so I put it back in the Misti and stamped it again with versa mark and used embossing powder on it as well. The two Inkadinkado stamp sets I used are Fall Season & Harvest Expressions.
I was hoping to use the Simon Says November Card Kit for this challenge. Unfortunately the with the postal strike that is on right now my parcel is still sitting at the border. Maybe I'll get it in time for Christmas!
Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Hulk Smash!
Since I own a comic store, I always look for comic related items and found a ton at Simon Says Stamp with the new dies by Character World. I bought one to star & I liked it so much that I may have bought a few more!
This card is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes!
I die cut the hulk using Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and colored him with copic markers (G21, G28, G29, BV20, BV23, BV25, BV29, C5, C7, C9 & R02) the die comes with a face stamp and that was the hardest part, thank goodness for my Misti or I may never have lined that up properly😀. I really wanted to have the Hulk bursting through the wall so I used the Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Bricks & Bark folder to create the wall and cut a piece out of the middle. I cut some of the bricks up and attached them to the bottom of the card with foam squares. I was going for a messy look from the chaos of the wall being destroyed and put everything at angles even the greeting (Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Thinlits Celebrate die set). The wall and greeting were cut out of black card stock, I distressed the wall & bricks with white & grey chalk inks and colored the greeting (triple stacked) with a black wink of stella pen. I glued the one leg that is behind the wall flat and then used foam dots to adhere the Hulk in place.
I'm really quite happy with how this turned out and will definitely make more of this card!
I shall be back soon with another project.

Take Flight!
This is my entry for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog. This weeks challenge was Take Flight and I decided to make another tag and use this cute little dragonfly embellishment that I've had floating around my craft studio for years!
I started with a plain tag and colored the background with Tim Holtz distress inks (wild honey, tea dye, fired brick, vintage photo & walnut stain), and used the wild honey & vintage photo to stamp the leaves (Inkadinkado fall season stamp set) on the tag. The die cut elements are from the Tim Holtz alterations hardware findings die and I sponged them with vintage photo, walnut stain & Brilliance cosmic copper inks. I sliced the one die down the middle and used it to edge each side of the tag. As I mentioned earlier the little dragonfly has been in my stash for years and I put a few drops of red alcohol ink on it to get it to blend with the colors in the tag a little more. It still needed a little something so I adhered a few rhinestones to add a little more detail.
Well, now I have to go clean up the mess I made, don't think I'm ever going to get the red alcohol ink out of my jeans but oh well! Must remember to put on the old clothes before I start working in my studio, LOL!
Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting everyone!

Halloween Tag!
Another Halloween project, this time for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! I decided to try a few new techniques working with distress oxide inks and water. It worked out really well but hard to tell in the pictures.
I started by blending peeled paint and walnut stain oxide inks on the tag and then lifting the color using a tree stamp and water (that is what doesn't show up to well in the pictures). I also stamped the tree on the edge of the tag with vintage photo distress ink and edged the tag with walnut stain and black soot distress inks. The tree stamp is from and old Basic Grey Halloween "Spooky" stamp set that is one of my favorites and I dig it out every Halloween. The other stamps are from a couple of sets by My Mind's Eye "Happy Haunting" & "Lost & Found Halloween". I stamped the images & greeting with black archival ink and added a few enamel dots (also from My Mind's Eye). The little cat was made using the Poppy Stamps curious cat die and then used an assortment of ribbons & string on the top.
Guess that's all the info I have for this project, now I have to go update the info on Sunday's post. Wishing everyone a very Happy & Safe Halloween. Thanks for stopping by

Halloween Scene!
This is a quick post that I will fix up tomorrow or the next day, I will add more details about the products I used for this. It is late Sunday night and I have been at work for over 14 hours today and I really want to get this posted for the Simon Says Monday Challenge before time runs out.
Here are a couple of pictures for the 3D Halloween card I made for the challenge! For the card front
Edited - here is the extra info I promised :)
I used the following dies
Window - 2nd largest die from the Sizzix "stacked deckle" dies
Spider Web - Memory Box "Haunted Web"
Fence - Tim Holtz Alterations "On the Fence"
Cat - Poppy Stamps "Curious Cat"

For the interior panel I started with white card stock and masked off the moon, then used Distress Inks to create the background (tumbled glass, broken china, blueprint sketch & black soot). Colored the moon with PrismaColor pencils Canary Yellow, White and Derwent watercolor pencil Deep Cadmium). Tree is from the stamp set "Spooky" by Basic Grey (one of my go to stamp sets at Halloween, I've had this set for almost ten years), added a bunch of highlights to the trees, sky and ground using prismacolor white & cool grey 20% pencils. I popped the house (Memory Box -Country House) up using foam squares.

Starry Night
Well it certainly has been a long time since my last post. However, I have been doing some crafting and posting it on Instagram, just haven't had time to sit down and update my blog. I really want to try and keep on top of this for the next few months, even though they will be hectic as I work in retail.
I have been doing lots of shopping, stamping & coloring and now it is time to put it all together and create some projects. First up I made another galaxy background using watercolor paints and some distress inks and decided to use my Kindred Stamps Space Explorers stamp set to make a card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge "Starry Night"
After I finished the Galaxy piece I used some white gesso to create the splatters and then I edged the piece with Ranger silver super fine detail embossing powder. I didn't want a perfect border so I just edged it with the embossing ink and dipped the edges in the powder. The greeting that goes with the stamp set says "Go Boldly" so I just snipped it apart and changed it & used the same embossing powder for it.
I colored the ship with copic markers (C0, C2, C4, C6, C9, Y19, Y0000, YR24,YR18, YR27 & Y26) and then covered it with clear detail embossing powder to give it a bit of a shine. The planet and I think it kind of looks like an asteroid :) are from the Brutus Monroe Lucky Star stamp set, they are are colored with some watercolor markers and some distress inks. I adhered them to the card with some foam dots and the ship is popped up on thicker dots so that it stands out more.
I think that covers most of the details for the card. I'm really quite happy with how it turned out.
Guess that's it for now, off to check out the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge to see what I can come up with!

Shopping.....
As I have stated previously...when I can't craft I shop....planning for when I will have time to craft! I have been doing a few odds and ends projects, but I haven't had a ton of time to spend making cards and full projects. Lots of times when I have a few minutes to spend in my studio I will make pieces for cards and stock pile them for when I can spend more time in my studio.
I used to work and shop at a local scrapbook store and now that it is gone I get a lot of my supplies on line, the only store really close to me is Michael's and most times they just don't have what I am looking for.
So here are some of my shopping hauls and my Birthday haul from a couple of months back :)
The first picture is my order of goodies from Simon Says Stamp, I got this in the spring and have tried many of the products in here. I love the new distress oxide inks and would love to get more of these. I have also been trying out the Zig Clean Color Real Brush watercolor markers.
Urban Source is a local store over in Vancouver that I love to shop at when I get the chance. I can't get there as often as I like, but I always stock up when I do. This is a great place to go for all kinds of treasures.
This is my Birthday haul of goodies, so many fun items in here...I really should have taken some better pictures of the goodies in here. So many projects I want to try with these products.

This is just a mini haul I did in October because I saw a couple of stamp sets I wanted to use for
Christmas cards. I hope to actually have time to make cards with them. Also SSS sent me a free gift code with my previous order and the die and paper smooches stamp set were the free gift & the Kitty Cat is just always on my desk (she has to be everywhere I am). Seriously, she is sitting in that same spot as I type this post 😊
A few weeks ago my husband bought me a bunch of crafting supplies. I had to break the pictures up for this haul...I couldn't fit the stuff all in one picture (at least not so you would be able to tell what was in there)
SSS sent me another free gift code and I got the die and stamp set that are in the above photo! Finally got my hands on the Misti Creative Corners and stocked up on some card stock and foam tape. The bottom two photos are the other goodies from I got in this haul.
Last, but not least...a wonderful belated birthday present from my brother & sister in law. These watercolor sets are beautiful and I can't wait to try them & the stamp set is so cute.
There just aren't enough hours in the day!!! Can't wait to get some more time in my studio!!!

Two Challenges in One!
I'm so enjoying spending more time in my craft room and getting back to doing some challenges. I didn't have enough time to do two different projects for the 2 challenges due by Wednesday, so I decided to combine them. Simon Says Wednesday Challenge this week is a "Birthday" themed project and the Kraftin' Kimmie Wednesday challenge is "anything goes"
For this project I decided to grab one of my favorite Kraftin' Kimmie stamps "Alice" and create a birthday card. I stamped the image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it with copics (B0000, B000, Boo, Bo1, B02, B05, Y21, Y23, Y26, E0000, E00, E01, E02, R02 & N7) & added a little shimmer with a "sky star" gelly roll pen.
I masked off the image and created the back ground clouds with a plastic template (handmade) and some tumbled glass distress ink sponged on. It is really hard to tell in the picture but both white background pieces have the clouds on them. I added some diamond stickles to the sponged clouds in the background. For the die cut clouds I used the Simon Says Cloud die and cut them up.
The greeting is from the Simon Says Birthday Balloons stamp set (MFT hybrid ink pad - steel grey). I liked that the curve of the stamp, it seemed to match the curve in the clouds (although it isn't easy to tell that from the picture). Finished it off with a few plain rhinestones in the corners and one on her hair bow.

Make A Rainbow!
This project almost didn't get finished in time!!! As I type there are about 4 hours or so left to post this. This project I created for the Simon Says Monday Challenge "Make A Rainbow". They design team made so many beautiful project this week that you couldn't help but be inspired!
This is what I came up with after looking at all their wonderful samples. Of course I now have to go out and buy the correct size frame for it. I put it in a slightly bigger one just to see how it will look, but I really need to get the proper size.
For the background piece - I followed the instructions I found on AmyR's blog - click here for post! The Tim Holtz distress inks I used were - black soot, mustard seed, wilted violet & blueprint sketch and copic opaque white paint.
The buildings I cut out with "cityscape nightline"die from Memory Box and the other buildings are using another die (unfortunately I can't find the package to tell you the name of it). I used Tim Holtz distress inks to water color these (tumbled glass, festive berries, peeled paint, squeezed lemonade, broken china, carved pumpkin, ripe persimmon, candied apple, twisted citron, mustard seed & wilted violet). I just stamped some of each ink on a plastic palette and spritzed it with lots of water and used an aqua brush to paint them. The buildings are attached to the background piece with glue dots.
For the moon I just cut out a circle and sponged it with a bit of brilliance moonlight white ink and a bit of the mustard seed ink edged on one side. I then used the "peeled paint" stamp by Prima to stamp the texture on with the black soot ink. It is attached to the background piece with foam squares.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out for my first attempt at the background. I love making these 3D art pieces and wish I had a proper size frame to put it in right now. Oh well, it gives me a good excuse to go shopping later this week. 😀
Thanks for stopping by and I do hope to be back tomorrow with another post!

Another Challenge
This card is for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Use more than one die or stamp!
I posted this earlier and said I would be back with more details and here they are.
The Spidey image is a coloring book page I found online and printed and colored with copics (R27, R29, N1 & N3), I cut the image out and attached it with foam dots. For the background I used the Haunted Webs die & Cityscape Nightline die both by Memory Box. I sponged a little bit of white chalk ink on them just to give them a little bit of detail. For the greeting I used the happy birthday dies from the Tim Holtz Celebration Words Script set. To make the happy birthday stand out a little more I used my Wink of Stella black shimmer pen on it. I glued all the die cut pieces on using Ranger Multi Medium Matte.
I can't wait to see what the next challenge is. I may even get another post done before the end of the month!!!

Layer It Up!
So I have been doing lots of researching, video watching and sorting through my supplies, while I have been redoing my studio. I decided the best way to get back into my crafting habit is to try some challenges. So I went over to Simon Says Stamp, one of my favorite shopping sites and looked at their challenge blogs (they have two). First stop was the Monday Challenge Blog and this weeks challenge is Layer It Up!
For this challenge I thought I would use one of my favorite stamps and revisit an old design and change things up a bit. The stamp is from the Safari Animal 2 set by Local King and I used MFT Hybrid ink Hot Fudge to stamp it. I colored the images with copic markers (E21, E23, E25, E29, YR23 & Y35) then I put a layer of glossy accents over the eyes. I edged the image with versa magic jumbo java ink and distressed the edges and layered the image on 3 different layers of card stock. I embossed the background piece with the "mesh" cuttlebug folder and used a little bit of Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink to add a bit of an aged look to it.
For the first card I finished it with some rhinestones and used the paper smooches "happy birthday 2" wise dies to make the greeting. I cut the greeting out 3 times and stacked them together to make it stand out a bit.
For the second card I just layered the image on 3 layers of card stock to frame it out and centered it on the card with no greeting. To add a little more detail a put bronze brads in each corner.
I am happy to be back in the crafting groove, I just placed another crafty goodness order from Simon Says Stamp and will post a pic when it arrives. I can't believe how many great new products and techniques I have been finding lately. I'm so excited to get going on my crafting again.
I got this order from Simon Says about a month ago. I needed to get some card stock and adhesives and I couldn't resist adding some new stamps and dies as well!
This order is stuff I picked up last year from One Crazy Stamper, I love all the matching stamps and dies! Even though I haven't posted any completed projects with these sets I have been working on making projects with these items.
