More Bombshell Cards

I just love these Bombshell stamps. I have been having so much fun making cards with them. Here are a couple of cards I made this week. Of course with these great new stamps I had to go and buy some new Prisma Color markers LOL. The patterned paper for the first card is from Creative Imaginations. The rhinestones on the charm were clear so I colored them with a prisma marker, so they would match the card.

The patterned paper for the second card is from K & Company "BW Madeline Painted Roses". The xoxo stamp is from Autumn Leaves "Love with a Flourish" stamp set. I forgot to write down what prisma markers I used. I will try and figure it out later and post the colors I used. Next time I'll try to remember to write them down as I go :)

January Challenge

Can you believe it's the end of January? I really wanted to do a bunch of page challenges this month. But...I only managed to get the one for Scrap Arts done. The challenge was 1 photo, spring theme, brad or eyelet (not both), chipboard & paint.

I don't like using paint for scrapbooking. I have tons of paint for other crafts but not a fan of using it for scrapbooking. It's too messy & I usually end up with paint everywhere. Also Kit is always trying to stick her nose in the paint.

The flower picture I took last spring. I really love the picture but I must have spent 2 hours trying to decide on paper and colors. I'm happy with most of it but I would undo the stamping if I could LOL. I have a real problem leaving blank spots on my pages. The chipboard oval was painted and I stamped the word beautiful on it. I really love this picture and I think the purple & green paper make it pop. Amazingly this was my first attempt at paper piercing on a page. I messed up a few times on other pieces of paper. The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Eva line.

I will attempt to get more pages done in February, I may even go to a crop or two.

Happy Crafting everyone!

New Bombshell Stamps

My Hubby is so wonderful!!! He ordered me 4 sets of stamps from Bombshell Stamps. I have been wanting these for awhile now. They are wonderful stamps, he got me the mounted stamps which come precut and ready to go, just need an acrylic block. I have been playing with different color combinations. My first actual card I did is here and the prisma color and momento markers I used are pictured below. Brown & Parakeet card stock. The main image was stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink, the rest of the images were stamped with Momento Rich Cocoa. I distressed the edges and inked them with Versa Magic Jumbo Java. The two small images have been popped up with foam dots.
I stamped out all the images on some white paper to practice coloring them in. Here are my first two attempts. I like the color combinations. I made a few mistakes but I had fun.

Valentine Samples

I will be teaching these 2 cards in my upcoming Valentine card class. The first one is a tri shutter card. This one is done with Brown & Foxy bazzill card stock. The patterned paper is Madeline Painted Roses from K & Company. The Sweetheart stamp is from the Love with a Flourish stamp set by Autumn Leaves and the Love Forever stamps are from the Crafty Secrets Cherish set. It is hard to see in the picture but there are some other images stamped with pink inks and versa mark ink. The front panel is stamped with designs from the Flourish Edges stamp set by Basic Grey.
The next card is done using flock and glitter. I did this much the same as you would do the burnished velvet technique. I did the flocked background first and then the pink glitter hearts. The card stock is Mud Pie and Petunia. I used chocolate lotto fun flock and micro fine rose copper glitter ritz glitter. The xoxo stamp is from the Autumn Leaves Love with a Flourish stamp set.

More Class Samples

Here are the rest of the samples for my Birthday card class. The first is a wiper card. The little piece on top tucks in when the card is folded up. I used French Vanilla and Parakeet Bazzill card stock. The patterned paper is called "Peek-A-Boo" from the October Afternoon "Ducks in a Row" line. The flower stamp is from Crafty Secrets Kewpies stamp set (ink Momento Pear Tart)

This Birthday card is a small 3 1/2" square card. The colors are Mud Pie & French Vanilla. I used the Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder. The stamps are from the Crafty Secrets Mouse Party set. I added a few bits of color with water color pencils.

For this card I wanted to do a shadow box style. I cut the scalloped oval out with and popped it up with 3d dots. I used a smaller scalloped oval for the greeting. The card stock colors are Hazel and French Vanilla. The patterned paper is the other side of the Peek-A-Boo paper. The greeting is stamped with Oasis Green versa magic ink and edges are done with Sea Breeze versa magic ink. The dragonfly and small flowers were stamped with versa mark and are from the Crafty Secrets "Wildflowers" stamp set. The flowers were cut out on the cricut.

Birthday Card Class Samples

I am teaching 3 classes in January. The first one is the Pocketful of Memories. The other 2 are card classes.

Here are 2 of the 5 cards I will be teaching in my Happy Birthday card class. For the first one I used a few different stamp sets. I believe the tree branches and leaves are from a Hero Arts set I have, the bird and nest are from Crafty Secrets set called Fairyland. For the background I used cuttlebug embossing folder Forest Branches. The image has been colored in with watercolor pencils. My friend Marie sent me a sample picture of an easel card the other day, and I decided to try one for the class. I love this cupcake from my new cricut solutions cartridge Home Decor. The bazzill card stock is Artesian Pool & French Vanilla. The patterned paper is by October Afternoon ( I just love their new lines). I put some of the sookwang double sided tape on my paper before I cut out the frosting for the cupcake. After I cut it out I removed the backing and added blue fun flock to make the frosting fuzzy. The cupcake is popped up with 3d dots.

Happy New Year

Happy 2010 everyone, hope you had a great holiday season. I got lots of crafting goodies for Christmas and fully intend to use them ASAP. I did use the Heidi Swapp Clear Snowflakes I got on a page I did the other day.
We had a December page challenge at Scrap Arts . The challenge was 1-2 photos /Winter themed/ Glitter/ Inking/ Dry embossing/ 3D Embellishment. We didn't get our white Christmas this year so I used a couple of pictures from last year. These are not the greatest pictures but they're all I have at the moment. The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Marrakech line. I used my Ashlyn's Alphabet circut cartridge for the title. I used a pearl to dot the "i". I also used pearls on the snowflakes to hide the 3d and glue dots. I used the snowflake cuttlebug folder for the embossed pieces then added diamond stickles over it for the glitter. The glitter is hard to see in the pictures. I inked around all the papers with some Versa Magic Ink. When I figure out what colors I used I will post them LOL.

Glitter Santa

I made this card last year and decided to redo it a bit this year. I changed the card base to red and the greeting is on an oval this year. Santa stamp is by Rubber Stampede (Delta). I colored his face with Prisma markers. I then used a glue pen to add glitter to rest of image (glitter ritz microfine transparent warm highlight). I also used diamond glaze on his glasses.

I borrowed this stamp from a friend so I have no idea who it is by. I stamped a bunch out and gave the stamp back to her. I used my aqua brush and stampin' up inks to paint the image in. The patterned paper is called Yuletide from the Oh Joy line by Cosmo Cricket. I'm not sure of cardstock color. The Joy stamp is from Inkadinkado. I also used a sakura clear glaze pen over the berries to make them stand out a bit more.

Even More Christmas Cards :)

Instead of just making more of the same (which would be much easier and less time consuming). I seem to keep trying to design some more cards. I picked up this Tree stamp the other day and have been trying many different styles of cards with it. This one is my favorite. Nice and simple, the tree stamp is by Inkadinkado and the greeting on the bottom is by Stampin' up. It is done on gold metallic bazzill paper and Crimson bazzill cardstock. I stamped the tree & the greeting with versa mark ink and then used stampendous detail gold embossing powder.
The next card was done using my Cricut machine to cut out this cute snowman. I placed some of sookwang double sided tape on a piece of thin paper and cut the snowman out with my doodlecharms cricut cartridge. I then removed the tape backing and covered him with white fun flock. I used some orange ribbon for his scarf. The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye Colorful Christmas Falling Flakes and the Bazzill cardstock is Butterfly and Sour Apple. The Merry Christmas stamp is by In The Making.

More Christmas Cards

Here are a few more of the Christmas cards I have been working on lately. I've been slow about getting the pictures on the blog. It seems lately that the days are just flying by. The first card is one I did using a stamp from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set by Stampin' Up. I love this stamp and learned this technique a couple of years ago from my friend Marie (her cards are amazing). I stamped the trees and just simply traced over them with a glue pen and then sprinkled them with the microfine transparent warm highlight glitter (that's the part Marie taught me :)). I switched it up a bit though this year, because I have become addicted to using the fun flock. I used the glue pen and added some white fun flock to the ground here and there for more texture. It is really hard to see the glitter & fun flock in the pictures. In person the card is very sparkly and you can really notice the flock a lot more. I also traced over the Joy greeting with the glue and added glitter to it. The patterned paper is from last years Basic Grey Christmas line and the Joy stamp is by Inkadinkado. I stamped the image and greeting with Momento Rich Cocoa and the card stock is bazzill Bitter Chocolate. For the next card I used the cuttlebug Lace Tree embossing plate and flipped it over so the indented side is facing up. I don't know the color name of this paper (it is a light green bazzill bling paper) and the red paper is a bazzill metallic paper. I colored the tree in with the star dust pen again and added accents with a red glitter pen. My pictures did not turn out very well this time. It looks much better in person. For this last card I used the Glitter Ritz glitter and some double sided tape to do the glitter blue background but, instead of using white glitter for the snowflakes I used white fun flock instead. It works quite well and it gives more texture to the card. I also stamped snowflakes on the blue card stock with versa mark ink.

Scrapbook Wallet

I found a great new project over at Splitcoast Stampers. Here is the link, it is called a Scrapbook Wallet , (all the instructions are there as well as a great video tutorial). I thought is was so cool, I just had to try it. I changed mine up a bit. I changed the size of the pieces so that the side pieces measure 6"x6" and then changed the rest to adjust for the new size. This way you can do the base with only 3 sheets of 12"x12" card stock. I then used a lot more to decorate it, LOL. Kit seemed to really like it too. Here are a few pics of mine. I used 3 different colors of Bazzill card stock Parakeet, Starmist & White. The patterned paper is called Alpine, it is from the new Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses line. The die cut was done on my cricut using the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. I then colored parts of it with my Sakura Stardust Pen.

Creative Chaos!

I finally started working on my Christmas cards last week. I usually make quite a mess when I am trying different ideas and techniques. I really didn't realize what a mess I had made until I got up to get something in the other room and came back to my desk. I had to take a picture, it was so messy even Kit wouldn't attempt to get on there. I did manage to design some cards out of all this mess though. I will post them over the next week or so. The first one, which I have made a few different versions of is done with the Lace Tree cuttlebug folder. I embossed it and then colored it with the Stardust Gel Pen from Sakura. It is very basic but does take some time to color it. I added a small rhinestone when i was finished.
