The Rainbow Connection

I have been so busy lately I haven't had much time for crafting. I made myself sit down last night and do one of the challenges from Skrapnchat . I did the Rainbow's End March Challenge. The challenge was to use every color of the rainbow in your layout or use pictures of rainbows. Pictures of rainbows much easier for me than trying to use every color and still make it look good. I still have about 7 hours left in March may try and get another layout down tonight. Not sure which one there are several to choose from. We'll see how much I can get down with Kit lending a paw.

These are 2 pics I took on Grouse Mountain in 2005, The Rainbow Connection is one of my favorite songs, it just seemed to work together. I used my Cricut Alpahlicious Cartridge to cut out the letters for the title. The large flower and leaf are from a Basic Grey paper and the smaller flowers and leaves are punched from the same BG paper and card stock. I wanted the focus on the Pictures so I didn't go over board on the embellishments.

Thief!

Our March page challenge at Scrap Arts was to make a baby page. It had to have the following elements. One baby photo, 2 patterned paper, hand stitching, buttons, ribbon & journalling. I gave up trying to do a page for me and made a page with a baby picture of Kit. The journalling reads "The moment I saw Kit at the pet store she stole my heart. I knew instantly she'd be mine." Kit July 2004 9wks old. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow "Grow" line called Fresh Flowers . The flowers are popped up with 3d dots and the orange leaf has been stitched with orange embroidery floss.

Signs of Spring...

Where does the time go? Seems like yesterday was Christmas and now we're into March. There are some definite signs of spring out there. Warmer days, birds chirping, flowers blooming, and Kit shedding like crazy!! Well I do have a few stamps that I like to use around this time of year that remind me of spring and the warmer weather. This one is a rubber stamp by Inkadinkado. For this card I stamped the image with Momento Black Ink and then I used my Aqua Brush and Stampin Up Inks to paint in the colors. The greeting was done with Cinnamon Versa Color Ink and then I embossed it with Clear fine detail embossing powder.
