Stocking Up!

I really don't have much time to craft right now so I'm creating some quick and easy Birthday & Mother's Day cards, so I have some ready in for upcoming events.  Here is the Birthday card I made tonight.
I've decided to try and use up any paper I've got scraps of laying on my desk.  I used this one last week for a Mother's Day card and decided to keep trying to use it up.  It is called blackbird by autumn leaves.  I stamped the flowers on the greeting piece using a small flower stamp from the Bo Bunny Alora stamp set.  I'm not sure who makes the ribbon but the flower is from prima and it was black to start with but I colored it with a black copic to make it match a little better. The greeting is a stamp from a M's $1.50 stamp set and I used jet black archival ink for it and the flowers.  I used a button in the middle of the flower and added some pearls to the corners and colored one black and put it in the middle of the button.

Well next week shouldn't be quite so crazy and I hope to be able to spend more time in my craft room. Maybe I'll be able to actually get something posted before Friday LOL.  Until next time happy crafting everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Hello!!!

This has been another chaotic week and I only got a chance to spend about an hour in my studio tonight. I will have to sneak in there again tomorrow night after work and make another card if I want to keep up with my challenge.

This card meets all the criteria of my challenge.  For this card I used more paper from the basic grey marrakech line.  The image stamps are from the Bo Bunny Alora stamp set and the greeting is from the Flourishes tag line stamp set. I stamped the images with black memento ink and colored them with copic markers (E40, E42, BG10, N1, N3, 0).  I colored it kind of messy on purpose and also did some paper piecing.  I used a bit of sheer ribbon to cover where the 2 papers meet.  I used spellbinders lacy squares die to cut out the mat for the main image and popped everything up on 3d dots.  I also popped the bird up on 3d dots but I stamped his feet directly on the card.  I used a small black pearl on his eye and added a bit of diamond stickles to his wing and tail (also on the trim of birdhouse).  The rhinestones are blue grey by kaiser craft.
Have a great weekend everyone.  I'll be back tomorrow night with my second post for this week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Just a Quick Post

I have to make this quick, it's late & I have a very busy weekend planned.  Here is another Mother's Day card and it works for my challenges.
For this card I decided to use up some more black & white patterned papers.  The one with the black background is an old paper by Autumn Leaves called blackbird in the black (dated 2006 - see really trying to use up the older paper)  and the one with the white background is called daisy downpour by Imaginisce (2008).  The stamp is from the Bo Bunny Ambrosia set and I used the same greeting stamps that I mentioned in yesterday's post.  I stamped them all with black archival ink and edged it with black versa magic ink.  I used the Martha Stewart lace edge punch for the decorative edges.  I put some black and white pearls on just for a little extra detail.

Well that's it for tonight, I hope to have another post ready for Monday or Tuesday.  Thank's for stopping by and have a great weekend everyone.

Present!!!

My wonderful husband ordered me some stamps I wanted for my Easter present and they arrived this week.  Of course I had to add a few more things to the order.  I keep running out of adhesive and have trouble getting the refills so I decided to try a new one.  There might have been some patterned paper in there as well LOL.  Anyway I wasn't the only one who was thrilled with this present.  Kit approved of my purchases and thought they were all very practical :).  Of course you can't see the stamps in the picture because she is sitting on them but they are all mostly the Kraftin' Kimmie Alice In Wonderland stamps and a couple of the Bo Bunny clear stamp sets to go with the 6"x6" paper pads I ordered..
I'm going to be super super busy this weekend so I made a card last night and will try to make another one tonight and have it posted tomorrow.  For this card I used a stamp out of the new Bo Bunny Ambrosia stamp set I got in this order.  I made a card with a similar layout last spring but I added a few layers of paper to this one and added a few new details to this one.  I love using the masking technique to create a row of an certain image.  Butterflies are so much fun to color, for these I used my copics ( BG11, 13, 15 - G000, 00, 40- YR00, 02) I then added some diamond stickles to their wings (which actually showed up a bit in the picture).  I stamped one and cut it out adhered the body flat to the card and then folded the wings up and stuck 3d dots under them to keep them in place.  I colored the pearls that I put on the butterfly with YR04 and the ones for the card I used BG13.  The "happy" is from the flourishes tag line stamp set and the Mother's Day is from the Anna Griffin Scrapbooking stamp set by all night media (I bought this years ago).  I stamped the greeting with memento tuxedo black ink and edged it and the white image strip with versa magic ocean green chalk ink.  The patterned papers are from the basic grey marrakech line, which is from a few years ago as well (I'm really trying to use up all the older paper sitting in my studio - this could take years and years LOL).
On the bright side I'm almost done all the work that keeps me so very busy for March and April so I might actually get to spend a lot more time in my studio soon.

Anyhow have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Quick & Easy

I'm always so busy in March and April that I don't have a lot of extra time to spend in my studio.  I haven't even had time to design a new class for May, or new Mother's Day cards or even post my class schedule for April.  As I mentioned in my post yesterday I did finally get a chance to spend a couple of hours crafting last night and here is the other card I made.
This is a quick and simple card but I did manage to use a lot of the embellishments I put in my challenge. The patterned paper is called Daisy Downpour by Imaginisce and is from a few years ago.  I stamped the greeting (1.50 stamp from M's) with black archival ink and popped it up with 3d dots.  I used some black brads in the corners and I'm really not sure where I got the black ribbon/trim, it has been in my ribbon drawer for years.  The flowers are from the Prima Pixie Glen assortment.  I attached them with glue dots and stuck some white pearls in the middle.

Time to get back to work, have a great week everyone.

Make A Wish!!!

I didn't get a chance work in my studio until tonight.  I have been super busy all week and will be busy all next week.  So I managed to sneak in there for a couple of hours tonight and get 2 cards made for my challenge.  I will post the other tomorrow night.

I didn't have time to spend on a lot of coloring so I kept these cards fairly simple.  My goal was to be able to dig into my huge stash of embellishments and put some on these cards.

Well for starters I bought this little dino stamp (by hot off the press) over a year ago and this is only the second time I've used it.  I colored him with copic markers (E40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 47, G0000, BG93 & 0). The greeting stamp is from a brand new set I got a few weeks ago (It's Your Birthday by Amy R - from CC Designs) and I stamped it with memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I cut the greeting & mat pieces out with large & small labels dies by spellbinders.  The greeting square is sponged with antique linen distress ink and edged with jumbo java versa magic ink.  The greeting and dino are both attached with 3d dots.  The baker's twine is from the Sew Easy Neutral package by We R Memory Keepers.  I also added a few buttons, I had the green and blue but not a brown so I colored a white one with copic marker E47.  Oh!  I almost forgot the patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Archaic line which is a few years old.

I'm slowly trying to make my way through all my old patterned paper but the problem is I keep buying more. Though I will admit most of it is the 6x6 paper pads.  Much easier to store and use up LOL!

Well I really need to cram in another hour or so of work before bed so that's it for tonight.  Have a great Saturday everyone and I'll be back tomorrow night with another card.

Happy Easter!!!

I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to post again before Monday so I'm going to wish everyone a very Happy Easter now!!! I really hope I can spend a little time in my studio tomorrow night and get at least one more Easter card made.  If I do I will try and post it on Sunday or Monday.

This is the last of the other new cards I made this year.  The image stamp for this card is called Sweet Spring a Penny Johnson stamp by stampavie.  This is another one of my new stamps that I finally got a chance to ink up and color.  I used my copics for this (YG00, 01, 03, 21, 23, 25, B000, B01, YR00, 02, 04, Y00, 04, 11, 17, 21, RV21, R17, 0, N0, 1, 3, E40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 47) and I added clear sakura glaze pen to the spots on the mushroom and clear glitter pen to the butterfly and inside of bunny ears.  The patterned paper is from the Three Bugs in a Rug "little chick" line.  It is hard to tell in the picture but the yellow paper is has a faint floral pattern on it.  The greeting stamp is from the crafty secrets Easter stamp set and I stamped it with rich cocoa memento ink.  I cut the image and mat out with spellbinders large and small labels dies and popped it up using 3d dots.  I added a few pink pearls for a little more detail, I'm not sure where they are from because they are no longer in their original package.
Time to get back to work have a great night everyone and a wonderful holiday weekend.

Easter Cards

I did get in my craft room to make some Easter cards this week but I didn't have enough time to post them.  I made about 7 or so but some were repeats of last years designs.  I only made a few that are new designs.  The first one doesn't work for my challenge but it was fun to make!

The eggs were cut out using the Easter 2010 cricut cartridge and I stamped them with versa color ink (canary, pink, lilac & lime) and studio G egg stamps.  I also cut the grass out with the same cartridge and only glued it down at the bottom so I could place the eggs between layers.  The greeting is from the crafty secrets Easter stamp set and stamped with peeled paint distress ink. I made a cloud template with the plastic from a spellbinders package and sponged the sky with tumbled glass distress ink.

So this card will work for my challenge for a couple of reasons.  The first is I used lots of patterned paper - from the basic grey porcelain line.  I also used some ribbon (which was white and I colored with copic R00) and pearls, I'm not sure where they are from just random stuff from the oodles I have in my studio LOL.  For the bunny I covered brown card stock with double sided tape and cut him out on the cricut using the Easter 2010 cartridge.  I used white glitter for his eye and covered the rest of him with brown fun flock.  The  greeting stamp is from M's (it had a little chick on it that I cut off) I used memento rich cocoa to stamp it and colored it in with copic R00.  The bunny and the greeting are popped up using 3d dots.

I am so super busy right now, but last week when I was getting ready for a class I did manage to get a picture of my trusty assistant.  I always manage to create chaos in my studio when I'm cutting stuff up for a class, but this time it spilled over to my dining room too!  The reason for this is my new cricut mini resides next to my computer and it is also in the dining room LOL.  Once again Kit has found her favourite spot on the paper trimmer.  I do believe it took me an hour or so to clean up my mess once I was done LOL.  Oh well we had fun making the mess!!!

Time to get back to work, I will be back tomorrow with another Easter card.  Have a wonderful holiday weekend everyone.
