Happy Spring!!!

What a beautiful day it was here today...I actually had the patio doors open all afternoon while I worked at my computer.  I have had a very busy month and haven't spent much time making cards.  I have started a few new projects.  I am working on a sewing pattern and I finally got it all cut out and now have to start the sewing portion....deep breath...hope it turns out.  While I was digging for some supplies for that I came across my tote full of cross stitch supplies and decided to work on a kit.  I have also been working on a couple of sculpey projects for some cosplay accessories.  When I get them finished I will post them.  All that and I also started work on an altered book, so with that and work I really haven't had time to work on cards .... but I really wanted to make one today.

I haven't done a challenge in a while and I didn't even know where to begin.  So I checked out some of my favorite sites for inspiration and this is what I found.   Prairie Paper & Ink is one of my favorite sites to visit for inspiration and info.  She always makes the cutest cards and has some fabulous video how to's.  This card she put up the other day was so great I just had to CASE it.  I used to do this technique all the time and was glad she posted it.  Here are a couple of cards I used this technique for over the last few years...I love making patterned paper to suit my needs and colors.

However, I do have a ton of patterned paper I need to put to use.  Well, I'll get to that eventually...LOL!

Anyhow on to today's card...I wanted to take part in the Simon Says Wednesday challenge...Glitter it.  I used the same colors that were in Amy's card but I did not die cut my greeting.  Instead I chose a greeting I wanted and simply stamped it on the card when I was finished stamping out the background.  Greeting is from the Kraftin Kimmie "Wonderland Greetings" stamp set and I used versa fine onyx black ink.
I used memento inks for all the background stamps (pear tart, dandelion, rose bud & tangelo).  I pulled the stamps from several different sets.
Leaves (pear tart) - Ranger Dylusions - doodle parts
Large flower & dot circles (rose bud) - Stampin Up - seeing spots
Small flower (dandelion) - Bo Bunny - Ambrosia
Solid dots (tangelo) - Technique Tuesday - talking in circles

Then to add some glitter for the challenge I randomly added diamond stickles to flowers and dots.  It is hard to tell in the picture but it is there.

Well that was kind of a long ramble...but I did get a card made and posted.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend everyone!!!

It's been too long....

since my last post, but I have been rather busy.  As I said in my previous post...I did redo my craft room and decided to take up a couple of new hobbies. Here is an old picture of my studio, pretty much what it looked like when I started working on it.
And here is a picture of the redo in progress.  Sorry it is a little blurry, I didn't check the pictures until after I was finished.  To late to fix it then :)
The next two pictures are how it ended up.  As I said I wanted to take up a couple of new hobbies and wanted more desk space to work at.

I have had this sewing machine for years and for the longest time it was buried in the closet.  I wanted to have it out where it was easy to access.  I have picked up a couple of patterns and will hopefully be able to make them.  The other new hobby I decided to try is painting....my hubby bought me a wonderful easel and some paints and so I am putting them to use.  Here is my first attempt at mountains...to my surprise they actually look like mountains.  Thank you Bob Ross!!! I love watching his videos!
I still have to finish this painting but I needed to pick up some more paints and supplies.  I have made a few cards over the last couple of weeks but they are just variations of ones that I have made before.  As soon as I have some new designs I will post them.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend everyone.

Let's Have a Laugh!!!

Sounds like an excellent idea!!!! The challenge this week over at Simon Says is to create something humorous or witty or a play on words.  I decided to pull out this cute Kraftin' Kimmie stamp "Sarah Shopper"  this is what I like to think when I go shopping.  I'm really just supporting the economy .... It seems like a plausible theory!!!

Anyhow I stamped the image on copic paper with memento black ink and coloured it with copic markers (E0000, 000, 01, 02, 21, 23, 25, 27 - N1, 3, 5 - BG70, 72 & 75).  Then I paper pieced all the shopping bags with different patterned papers.  I edged all image and greeting & patterned papers (from the Bo Bunny Alora collection) with agean blue versa magic ink. The greeting is stamped with Versa Fine Onyx Black ink and popped it up with 3d dots.  For a little more detail I added some bling and brads.

I planned on having more projects to post over the last couple of weeks but as usual life doesn't always go as planned.  I had a few unexpected things happen and then I decided to completely redo my craft studio.  I will have some pics to post soon.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time Happy Crafting everyone!

Something New!

Hello everyone!!! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!!!  I know ours was fabulous but very chaotic!  I have made a few resolutions for the new year and hope to be able to stick to them.  One is to find more time to spend in my craft room and update my blog more often.  This week I spent several hours in there...cleaning!!!  LOL!  I did get it organized and spent some time in there crafting.  I decided to try the Simon Says challenge this week...Something New.  That means
New Year, New Job, New Baby, New Crafty Stash, New Home, Wedding ( new life) Retirement ( new life) ,, etc ,,,,  !!!

I decided to go with new crafty stash.  I got a few new stamps just before Christmas and haven't had a chance to ink them up.  The stamp is a "I gave you my heart" gorjuss by docrafts.  I bought three of these girls ...they are just so cute.  I stamped the image on copic paper and colored it with copics (W1, 2, 4- N1, 5, 7 & 110 - E0000, 000, 00, 01, 21, 23, 25, & 27 - R00, 02, 05, 22 & 46 - B95)  I also used spica gold on her bow and a sakura clear glitter gel pen on the heart.  The patterned paper is from the Teresa Collins "you are my happy" collection (also new).  I edged the papers with versa magic chalk ink wheat and pink grapefruit.  I cut the greeting piece out with the MFT Dienamics Tabs quartet dies and stamped the greeting (from the cc designs Amy R stamp set "All about Mom") with versa fine smokey grey ink and edged that piece with color box creamy brown chalk ink.    I used a prisma color marker  PM-6 to color the rhinestones, I noticed they were a little crooked and fixed them after I took the picture :).

Well it is quite late and I have to work in the morning, so that's it for now.  Have a great week everyone ... Happy 2014!!!
