Another Thank You Card!

So I did a bunch of coloring last month for the 30 day coloring challenge and have all these bits and pieces to use up.  I have started putting them together for cards over the last week.  Here is one card I came up with for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Anything Goes"

The cherry blossom stamp is from an old Flourishes stamp set and I used Memento rich cocoa ink to stamp it on Neenah Desert Storm card stock and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils.  The greeting is from the Tim Holtz Celebrate greetings die set.  I cut it out of black card stock 3 times and stacked it to make it stand out.  I edged the desert storm card stock with a white chalk ink.

Pretty simple card but the coloring took forever.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

Thank You!

Well it has been a strange few weeks, I have been doing some crafting and coloring bits & pieces.  Putting projects together has been a bit more challenging though.  I did get inspired to make this card however, and I am happy to see that it works for both Simon Says Stamp Challenges this week.  Monday Challenge - create a scene and Wednesday challenge flower power

I started this one by coloring a bunch of the die cut pieces from the Tim Holtz Funky Foliage thinlits set from Sizzix.  I used a combination of copics, prismacolor pencils & distress ink on these pieces.  For the background piece I used the Tim Holtz 3-d texture fades Lumber, I just love 3-d embossing folders, they create such gorgeous backgrounds. I started with Neenah smooth desert sand paper and used distress inks to color it (vintage photo, walnut stain, ground espresso & black soot).

The greeting is from another Tim Holtz Sizzix die set called Celebrate, I cut it out 3 times and stacked it together and colored it with copic markers YG93, YG95 & YG25.

I'm not going to list the colors I used for each individual flower but here is a list of copics & prismacolor pencils I used.  Copics - E42, E43, E59, YG93, BG01, BG11, BG15, YR21 & R14.
Pencils periwinkle, light blue, goldenrod, Sepia, tuscan red, crimson lake, poppy red, moss green & sienna brown.  I also edged everything with vintage photo distress ink.

I had quite a bit of fun making this project, hopefully I will have time to make a couple more cards this week.

I really hope everyone is staying safe & healthy.
Until next time, happy crafting

Groovy

So I have been doing the daily coloring challenge again and creating more pieces to make into cards.  I decided to take a couple of images I have done and make them into a card for the Simon Says Monday Challenge Add Texture.

I started by layering a few different patterned papers and then popping the greeting and the gal up on foam dots and adding some rhinestones.  It's a simple card but I kind of find myself in a bit of a creative slump right now...anyone one else feeling that way.

Updated info - The Groovy diecut was cut out on my Cricut Explore Air 2 and is from the Groovy Times cartridge.  I switched most of it to dray and colored it with copic marker (Y19, YG25, BG18, BG15 & YR09).  The girl character stamp is from the Kindred Stamps Teen Detective set and I used copic markers to color this image as well (E0000, E000, E00, V04, V05, V12, V15, V17, YR09, YR16, YR18, YG23 & YG25)  as well as Copic Multiliner Wine & a Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen.  I also used an old Stampin Up stamp set to add the flowers and dotted circles to the yellow patterned paper.  I think the name of that stamp set is "seeing dots".  The patterned paper is mostly from old Bo Bunny 6x6 paper pads, except the tiny blue piece at the front which is from the "Teen detective paper that came in the box set.  Finally finished it off with a bunch of rhinestones!

I'm guessing it has to do with the state of the way the world is right now.  Hope everyone out there is doing well, staying safe & healthy.

I'll be back in a bit to add a few more details, just wanted to get this up before it was too late!

So Many Plans

I had so many plans for posting this month but jut never got around to it.  I have been working from home and figured I would have so much time for crafting and updating my blog, I just didn't get it done.
I have been doing  the 30 day coloring challenge and uploading that to my Instagram, so I have been a bit productive!  I now have lots of pieces to use for card making.  As soon as I get them made I will post them here.
I guess I will still have more crafting time as I will continue to be at home for the next month by the looks of things.  Still hard to believe what is going on in the world right now.  Taking a break each day and doing the coloring challenge definitely helped me maintain my sanity so a big thank you to Kathy over at The Daily Marker for hosting that event.  I believe she is hosting another one from April 7-May 7 if you want to join in for the next round.  I know I will be!  I will probably try to do a few of the challenges over at the Simon Says Stamp blog as well!

For now here are a few of the images I colored this last month!

These little characters are all from Kindred Stamps and I colored them all with copic markers.  I will list the copic colors for each one when I put them on a card.  The blossom piece in behind them , is an old stamp from a company called Flourishes - I do believe this company has gone out of business.

For this next piece I used the Tim Holtz Mechanics 3D texture fade embossing folder.  This is one of my all time favorite embossing folders.  The picture below it is all the inks I used on the piece.  This was supposed to be for the Simon Says stamp Steampunk Challenge but I didn't get a project finished with it.

I totally plan to make something with this over the next few days. As soon as I do I will post it.  I also mentioned I picked up a few pieces for my craft room a few posts back and one of those items is in this picture.  I finally got the Tim Holtz glass mat for my craft desk.  I am so happy with this purchase and it makes doing many of these projects so much easier and clean up is a breeze!

Well thanks for stopping by, please stay healthy and safe everyone!

Another Card!

Here is another card I made this week.  Since the Wednesday challenge over at Simon Says Stamp is Anything Goes, I decided I should post this as well.

For the background piece I used distress inks to make the night sky and the moon.   I used a black marker to create the spiral hill.  The cute little characters are from the Kindred Stamps set Holidays are a Nightmare (Retired), I colored them with Copic Markers and fussy cut them out and added them to the card.

Ok, that's all the details for this card.  I'll be back in a couple of days with another post.
Happy Crafting, thanks for stopping by!

Boldly Go!

I made a card for the Anything Goes challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.

For this one I made a watercolor galaxy background and edged it and the greeting with silver embossing powder.  The greeting & the ship stamp are both from the Kindred Stamps Space Explorers set.  I colored it the ship with copic markers and then covered it with clear embossing powder to make it shiny!  The planets are done with prismacolor pencils.  Popped the ship up on foam squares to make it really stand out.

Will be back soon with another post.  I have been busy making some cards this week.

Happy Crafting everyone!

Add A Sentiment

Hello again....2 posts  in 2 days!!!  It may never happen again LOLS 😊.  So when I don't have enough time to sit down and make a complete project I will tackle smaller pieces.  Sometimes I will create background pieces, stamp out a bunch of images to color or simply sit down and color pieces.  That way when I get to spend some time in my craft room I can just pull out all the pieces and make something.  This is a card I made that works well for this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Add A Sentiment.

For this card I used patterned paper from an old Bo Bunny 6" paper collection called Head Over Heels.  I cut the Love sentiment out on the Cricut Explore Air 2 as well as the hearts.  For the glitter heart I covered the paper with a double sided sticker sheet first and then added some glitter ritz ultra fine red glitter.  I had originally cut the greeting out of pink card stock but decided it need to be darker so I colored it with some copic markers and popped it up with foam tape.  I added a few rhinestones in top corner for a little more bling.

I guess that is all the details for this cards....will try and return with another project soon.  Hopefully it won't take a few months 😊

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting

Frame It!

Well my plan from October obviously failed, but oh well!  I have had some crafting time recently and been working on a bunch of different things.  As well, over the last year I have made a few purchases of items for my craft studio and some new supplies.  I will post more about those later....now that I actually have time to post again.

First though I thought I might do a challenge or two to get me to actually post 😊

The first place I always go when I am looking for a craft challenge is over to the Simon Says Stamp challenge blogs.  They are always so much fun and provide so much fabulous inspiration!  This weeks Monday challenge is Frame It and I made a card that works well for this challenge.

The cute little character in the middle is from the Legendary stamp set by Kindred Stamps and I colored it with Copic markers.  I did a few accents with a gold marker & a rhinestone on the crown.  The green frame piece (from the Antiquities card cartridge) was cut on my Cricut Explore Air 2   (one of those new pieces I was talking about 😃 ).  This is a nice simple card that can be used for many occasions.

Ok, that's it for now,  back to crafting and see what pieces I have that I can put together for another card.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting everyone.
