I know Valentine's was a couple of weeks ago. I however, forgot to post these two Valentine cards on my blog. The first one is a new style for me and I love it. Lots of layers and different techniques. It is a tent fold card. I stamp is from the Autumn Leaves collection by Rhonna Farrer I use this set a lot. I embossed it with clear fine detail embossing powder. I did some ink distressing around the edges and the edges of the piece I embossed with my cuttlebug folder. The pp is from the basic grey Bittersweet line. I used my new fiskars "Elegance" edge punch on the pp. I just bought this edge punch a couple of weeks ago. I did not own one prior to this. I love it so much I went out and bought another edge punch last week. The next card is quite similar to style to the one I taught in my class. Same techniques but the layout is a bit different and I changed the stamp.

A New Challenge
We decided to start a new monthly scrapbook page challenge at Scrap Arts . We are making all the designers do this as well. The way it works is, we post the challenge at the beginning of the month. You have until the end of the month to bring it into the store and we display it for the following month. Plus anyone who brings in a page will be entered into a draw for a prize.
This Month's Challenge
1 Photo
A 3-D Element
At least 1 Bling OR Pearl embellishment (can't use both)
Stamping OR Rub-Ons (can't use both)
We just got a whole bunch of new patterned paper and goodies in at the Scrap Arts. I love the new Basic Grey Marrakech line so I used it for my lay out. The pages will be on display at the store for the month of March.
The Kitten and the Paper Trimmer
I'm not exactly sure if she likes the paper trimmer or she is jealous of the paper trimmer. Every time I try to use the paper trimmer she jumps up on it. I think she is trying to get my attention LOL. The other night while I was prepping the paper for a class I was teaching & she kept jumping on my desk and laying down on the Paper Trimmer. I couldn't resist taking a picture. As you can see she made herself comfortable. She did get tired of the game eventually and I managed to get the class stuff prepared.

Happy Valentine's Day
Wishing everyone out there a Very Happy Valentine's Day. This is the card I made for a couple of contests. It is all done with inks and stamps. The base is black card stock so I made an insert for it to match the outside. Started with white card stock and used Colorbox Scarlet & Black Ink as well as Brilliance Galaxy Gold. The stamps are Basic Grey Flourish Corners & Autumn Leaves Rhonna Farrer Love with a Flourish. The oval is popped up with 3D dots and decorated with a couple of black bling.

Same Kit, Different Day!
Kit up to no good again, here she is attacking more paper, It is a wonder I have any paper left. Oh well, she's just so cute when she does it. I go get the camera and take a picture then tell her she's bad. No wonder she doesn't think she's doing anything wrong. Not the best way to discipline a cat LOL. She never really gets in trouble for anything she does actually, we spoil her all the time.

A Couple of Days Off
I finally had a couple of days off where nothing major needed to be done. I kept working on organizing my craft room (what a process, not sure I'll ever finish). I got a couple of new storage units and put them together.
I was having a slight case of crafters block. So I took out some pics of old cards I had done and reworked them a bit to make some new ones. Here are the ones I made.
The pink is for Valentine's Day. Basic Grey Flourished Edges stamps and the Love stamp is from an Autumn Leaves Love with a Flourish Set. (I just love the flourishes) I used Versa Magic Pink Petunia and Pixie Dust Inks. The love Stamp is embossed with clear fine detail embossing powder.
This Yellow "A little Note" card was made using up some of the scraps I had of this paper. I inked the torn edges with some light and dark yellow inks. Layered 2 different flowers, I punched out of the tulip paper, it is a double sided paper blue and white on back. Just flipped the small flowers over for blue color contrast. I stamped the " A Little Note" with Color box Cyan ink on a small piece of vellum and embellished with bling.
This card is a great Birthday card for a little boy. The patterned paper is by Tim Holtz, I believe it is called Transportation. I cut out the larger vehicles from the paper and cover with versa mark ink and them emboss the whole thing using clear fine detail embossing powder. I then use pop dots to put it on.
