A New Toy!!!!

Remember how I happen to mention every now and then that I have the most wonderful husband!!!!  Well this is one of those times where I'm going to say it again!  I have the most wonderful hubby!!!  The other day he came home with a present for me (for no particular reason) and here is what he bought me!

The Cricut Mini

I was so happy and totally planned on posting about this new gadget right away but I got carried away setting it all up and cutting out all kinds of goodies for cards.  Also he bought me 4 new cartridges the previous week (Superman, Batman & 2 Disney ones), so I've been having tons of fun with those and forgot to post.  Not to worry though, even though it has been over a week since my last post I still have tonight and tomorrow to post and still stick to my challenge.

I must say I am getting to be a bit of a cricut junkie LOL, I now have 3 (original, create & mini) machines & the gypsy.  I love the larger cutting area of the Mini and that I can do everything on the computer.

Anyhow I did manage to get a couple of cards made over last weekend and here they are.  They are 2 quick and easy cards for little boys.  I cut the images out using the cricut and the Life's A Party cartridge.  This was done prior to me getting my new Mini so I cut these out on the Create machine.  The patterned paper is from the Bo Bunny "Blast Off" collection.  This particular paper is called Galaxy and I thought it was a good choice for the little alien in a spaceship.  Since I had to cut out some of the pieces twice in alternating colors I decided to make 2 cards.

The greeting for this card is done with a $1.50 stamp from Michael's and the greeting for the card below is done with a stamp from Kaiser Craft.  I colored the rhinestones with R89 and B39 and I inked the edges of the patterned paper and the greeting with night sky versa magic chalk ink.  Of course the ships are adhered to the card with 3d dots.

Well I better go make a couple more cards and finish packing up for the class I'm teaching tomorrow.  Have a good night all and I'll have another post tomorrow at some point.  Until then happy crafting everyone!

Congratulations on your new toy. Guess your hubby knows you well. Mine wouldn't have a clue what to get unless I hand him a list including where to shop, etc. Curious as to how you like the new mini as opposed to the expression or original. Thought it might be a good one for travelling with along with a lap top and not have to take along a bunch of cartridges. Don't you just love a new toy.

I really love it so far, but I have a bunch of my cartridges linked to my gypsy and therefore can't link them with the cricut craftroom yet. Once they get it so gypsy links all my cartriges will be linked and I won't have to use them in the machine. Otherwise it seems pretty good. I don't have the expression so I don't know how it compares to that. I do love having the large area to work with. Hope that helps, just pop on to the cricut website and you can actually load up the craftroom app and try it out, you just can't cut anything out.
